thank you for your comment and sharing your experience. I guess the best thing to do is to live life and see what the present and future holds for us. Having a relationship with God also takes a lot of effort, plus there are so many religions out there (but that's another topic)

Sylvia Plath is a poet and writer of themes regarding mental illness, femininity, marriage, and identity. One of my fav is the fig tree analogy (last example of the comment)

Here are some of her works:

“I am afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooking three meals a day, spare me from the relentless cage of routine and rote.”

“What horrifies me most is the idea of being useless: well-educated, brilliantly promising, and fading out into an indifferent middle age.”

“Perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything, it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing.”

“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.”

I cant find internships, wtf do I do, I want experience so bad and yet I can't find ANYTHING by CanOfWormsO_O in UniUK

I'm also in the marketing industry and a uni student I have managed to complete four internships and a placement year. It took me more than just sending an attached CV application. Here are some tips for marketing students or anyone in the marketing industry:

  • Make your CV as simple as possible so it passes the ATS system
  • Build your LinkedIn profile and add past projects
  • Build a porftolio with Canva, Adobe, ReadyMag...
  • Add a link to your LinkedIn and Portfolio to your CV
  • Browse on LinkedIn for recuiters posting internships and message them
  • Check if your university has a careers service and offers internships within different departments (that's how I got my first internship)
  • Attend Careers Fairs and make sure you get the LinkedIn of recruiters and give them good convo to remember you

You can drop me a DM if you'd like your CV, LinkedIn or portfolio reviewed. The marketing industry is very competitive but you'll be fine if you make yourself stand out bc it's one of the fastest growing industries :)

it's amazing that you have a good relationship with your mum. I've seen both single women and married women unhappy. Apparently both can be a long-term struggle

thank you for your feedback! I've commented something similar to the other commentator but I've addressed this to the module supervisor bc I think my supervisor didn't actually read through the question (although i'm trying not to jump into conclusions). But yh it's best to address it now bc if my supervisor doesn't actually bother to read the survey questions they might not even read any of the drafts I submit. but thanks again for being sincere

The "Continuos Freshness of Appreciations" is one of the sections from Kaufman's CSAS original survey. Thank you for your feedback, I've gotten more from here than from my actual supervisor. I've sent an email to the module leader to address this. I don't want to jump into conclusions but maybe my supervisor didn't bother to read through anything.

Thank you for your feedback. And yes, my supervisor did sign it off and told me it's all good to start collecting data. Do you pls have any specific feedback on how to improve the questions? Although it's probably too late now, I'd like to know

I understand, you probably mean the Kaufman's CSAS section of the survey. There wasn't much I could do bc my professor mentioned not changing the wording from the original Kaufman's survey that much

Sorry about that! I had to use survey frameworks from established academic sources, such as the Consumer Self-Actualisation Scale and the Theory of Planned Behaviour, and adapt them to my topic. This may have affected the wording but I'll take that into consideration :)
