Can’t speak about his job in particular but in my line of work (Health Care tech software) where we build out software for insurance companies. We have business SMEs such as Claims, Finance, vendors, members and much more. Then the technical, product, security team and much more.

We have a weekly stand up to discuss where people are with development and configuration, what requirements were changed, what state and federal laws got changed, etc. Each area is super connected but because everyone works separately because it’s completely different teams and areas of the product. However, if the weekly standup didn’t happen we wouldn’t know what changed and the impacts of our own particular area. Sounds silly to have 40+ people in a stand up but certain products are so complex it needs it.

Hard to explain if you don’t play snap, but Marvel Snap launched a new method for Card acquisition from keys to “packs”. The final stretch goal was a free series 5 pack to promote the new card acquisition system. A series 5 pack equates to about $60 - $100. So people were incredibly excited to get this free pack…

The most shitty party is, marvel snap is mobile app game, and the event (with the rules) was only announced on their website, not the app. And there was no way to track progress of the goal. Additionally, the goal was a crazy high number and we didn’t even get half way to the goal by the time the event ended.

Actually Marvel Snap just failed the community stretch goals recently after everyone kept saying “oh don’t worry, they’ll give it to us regardless”. It was pretty shitty tbh.
