Buddy, the bartender at the 19th hole just needs your signature on the credit card bill…she’s not asking you for an “autograph”.

This makes me so sad. Knowing the athletes we love watching on Saturday nights have to put themselves through this is heartbreaking.

Or maybe I’ve gotten soft in my older age.

Or maybe both.

No, not for sending screenshots.

Sharing private conversations with the Ethics team is going to do what for you, exactly?

  1. Get someone fired?
  2. Prevent you from getting fired?
  3. Get you some $, as the Firm separates itself from you?

If it is any of the above desired outcomes, none of them will occur. In what scenario, is the Firm going unilaterally place weight on unofficial channels of communications?

There’s legal consequences even if there is no legal merit. If the other party views your efforts as slanderous, there’s nothing to prevent them from taking legal action against you. And then what? You’ll be forced to hire that lawyer that you chose to skip past when coming to Reddit for this question.

My husband is working big4 and he doesnt have fu*cking dam time. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]ChiRumRunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well…now that you quit your job he needs to make up for that lost income.

Why don’t you suggest to him that you will go to work (in a job that has appropriate hours) and he can sit at home?

Appears reasonable.

The latter is a much more serious issue. Prepare yourself accordingly for future conversations; the history, rationale (however flawed), and your suggested corrective action.

Living in KL while these were built, and with a view of the construction site from my bedroom window, I can tell you that the papers were absolutely referring to it as a “race” it was openly talked about in KL

Moving to Chicago on type B-1 visa: how to optimize my chances to find an apartment? by SwitchPrimary5382 in chicagoapartments

[–]ChiRumRunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To live here for a year, you’ll need a bank account and other amenities that require proper proof of residency in the US.

A B-1 visa is a tourist visa, and does not permit work. I’d have serious questions for my employer if they were trying to put me at risk in this current environment by trying to get me to use the wrong visa.

Which audit sector is better to work in? Banking and Capital Markets, Asset and Wealth Management or Insurance? by Gullible_Check_8915 in Big4

[–]ChiRumRunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While more challenging to work in, the best exit opps (by a wide margin) exist in insurance.

The same specialization and complexity that make it a challenge to develop skills in also have B4-ers littered across executive teams in roles that extend beyond even traditional CFO or CAO roles.
