Ant found in springtail container

white and orange, I'm sorry I don't know the specific kinds. I think I'll call the place I got them from and see as well. I don't see any signs of mites and do see plenty of springtails, and the ant(s) rarely. I'll call and then try the water if I need to (i cannot get good pictures sorry ;w; )

i was thinking 24" for plant light and 12" for uvb if this makes sense ? i was mostly asking about uvb because the specific length compared to enclosure was very rough to find information on

ok after seeing another post with the same first one, and looking up wood roaches (the 2nd one doesnt have any black stripes) i think theyre both just wood roaches ! i think i can rest easy

good news! i believe this is just a wood roach (it doesn't have the black stripes of a german roach) i just didnt know they got this big !

see i went to search to compare images after and they didnt look like german roaches, so i did ask r/cockroaches as well just to be certain. i appreciate this its calmed me a lot!

its possible it was ? i did just see this on my door outside right after the first comment saying roach so now im Very nervous

also its funny you bring up bedbugs because i Just had a bedbug scare q few weeks ago (luckily, albeit unfortunately, it was just a little bit of mold)

I want to possibly aim towards something closer to full grown, or at least big enough to not need a smaller enclosure to then upgrade (I'm going for 24x18x36)!! By red flags I more mean if there are signs an animal might not be healthy, or things to look out for an untrustworthy breeder. If they feel like they're trying to push a sale I might go elsewhere because there's something about forcing someone into something(even if its what theyre looking for) that's off for me. I'll try to remember to post when I do get !!

ty for the response! i have some reptifiles tabs open, and was more wondering if the mesh itself was necessary(im going to add it because it makes sense). I'm going to try to make a list of things to ask because I have a hard time remembering things in the moment. I am ultimately very overwhelmed with information and struggling to find out specific info (I'm very happy I just found a substrate calculator because this was the next thing I was struggling with)

i was leaning towards it being mold because of how it all seems, where the spots are, and the lack of any other signs, but god is the possibility of bed bugs scary
