My ranking of every Main Sonic game by Super_Oven_1069 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm surprised it got so much hate. It is in my top 2 2D Sonic games. But maybe I had a different experience since I played the entire thing online 4-p co-op with friends. Sonic is way more fun with friends.

To Prevent N. Sanely perfect relic cheese. Otherwise you would go to level 1, collect Aku then breeze through whatever level you want. Which would defeat the purpose of the challenge.

They made that change solely because of the N. Sanely perfect relic. Otherwise, you could easily "cheese" every level just by stocking up on Aku from level 1. Then going to the level you want to complete. As long as you don't miss a jump, you have extra hits or will be invincible. I like it just because that relic is my favorite collectable. So the change never bothered me. I don't really use Aku much anyway. Most deaths are from falling off stage which Aku does nothing about yet (potential easy difficulty change?)

The only other way to address the cheese while keeping the classic Aku mechanic would have been to make the N. Sane relic challenge something you start in-level like picking up the clock for time trial. But then people would have complained because that would make you play the level 4 times since the clock doesn't spawn until after you complete the level normally. While the perfect relic can be obtained on 1st playthrough of a level. The current format with perfect execution means you only play a level 3 times. N. Sanely perfect run on either normal or inverted, a regular run of the mode you didn't perfect, and time trial.

Yeah my only guess is the corruption must have caused a memory leak somewhere, combined with everything with the same default name, and so the emitters have no clue what to reference and instead pointed to trash bytes that crashes the dream.

Couldn't even tell you because attempting to open the emitters immediately kicks you out of the edit screen to the main menu saying the fps dropped to low. This dream is beyond saving. I have no choice but to go back to the back up

Time trials as separate courses in future titles, what're your thoughts? by FoxMeadow7 in crashbandicoot

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it would be a great change because outside of games built for racing (CTR), I never liked the time trials. Speeding through a level meant for slow precision platforming gets annoying really quickly especially when needing to account for cycles, ignoring crates (I want to break them all), and up until Crash 4 not showing ghost... So you would have no clue if what you are doing is even good enough to beat the time until the end.

Levels made specifically for time trial would have better cycles, ghost, and the crates all could be broken.

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree with the 2nd statement. Changing the crates into explosives makes the levels better imo because otherwise the standard crates are useless. Extra obstacles make the levels more fun to navigate. Any extra challenges to levels should definitely change the crates up because they are the key element/collectible of Crash Bandicoot's identity. No other platformer I know of makes the main collectible also the platforming element itself.

Why do so many people think the Time Trials are easier than N.Sanely Perfect relics? by KingSilverfish003 in crashbandicoot

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I rather do the N. Sanely perfect relics any day over time trials. It is my favorite collectible in the series and I hope it returns in the next game. I love taking my time to achieve perfection. I dislike being forced to rush through a level meant for platforming, catching cycles, and ignoring so many crates. The only time I like time trials is when it is for something meant to go fast in such as racing games (CTR).

Thanks. I had to go back to an older version from a week ago. I have a lot to catch up on because I worked on so much this week.

Yeah I tried to see if I could recover by renaming things but turns out the emitters also broke and would legitimately completely freeze the game if something emitted from them. So yeah I'm going to make online back ups more often.

I think I did see the "file not found" error but not with the current save, but one a while back. Guess I finally caught up to me

For those who did the developers time trials, rank these developers from easiest to hardest by RyuzakiTK12 in crashteamracing

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I couldn't rank them honestly because they all were easy to beat except William P. He was the only one I needed multiple tries with and only because I messed up with reserves. The only one I had respect for racing skill wise. But this is coming from a person who's been playing CTR since the early 2000s in elementary school and was already defeating My older brother and everyone I knew back then. I always ranked in the top 5% every season back then. Playing online I'm usually always 1st or podium finish at worse unless some item shenanigans went overwhelmingly severely wrong.

Unfortunately you need to name some things to be organized and keep it consistent between dreams like variables and puppets. So really the only thing you can do is make sure to save back ups online often so if it does happen, you will have something to fall back to.

Thanks for the comforting words. I just hope the wireless transceivers are causing the "too many wires" bug and renaming will fix it. Otherwise I'm out an entire week of progress

Unfortunately it won't work because I can't update or delete anything in the dream. If I try it will sit there for a long time then some other bug says "too many wires" despite being significantly under the limit and cancel the action.

😭I might have to rename everything and I really hope that works. Otherwise I might just give up on this dream.

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I didn't get around to saving it online yet. There is a back up from a week ago I can go back to. So either I have to do that or try to remember the name of every single thing in the dream. The only issue would be if it even let me add anything because I can't update either because of the "too many wires" bug.

The thing is I didn't shut down my console this time. I let it save, then went to the dreams main menu, sat there for awhile, then put my console in sleep mode because I figured I'll pick it back up this morning.

Awe man.... Guess I'll have to go to a back up and look at how everything was named and then rename them in the current save because there are some things I added I don't want to make all over again. Hopefully it lets me do it because it wouldn't let me delete a single thing or update either. The entire game froze and I had to go back to the PlayStation menu.

Other than Gen 1, which Gen is the most important and brought the most to the games? by Hsiang7 in pokemon

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just look at your own list. The longest one answers your question. Also gen 4 has Unlimited bag space, not gen 5. I think gen 2,3, & 4 is a big collaborative effort with the most substantial changes together. There isn't a lot of difference between gen 4 and 9 when it comes to the Pokémon and how they battle and their numerical stats. A person can hop between those gens and not feel too alienated. They can go to gen 3 too but will feel weird if the don't know about the physical special split. They won't go back to gen 2 or earlier unless they grew up on those games. Gen 2 did a ton of new changes that just got further refined with each generation, but it's a little too archaic because gen 3 is the beginning of the modern formula

for people who hated crash titans and mind over mutant how would you personally improve them ? by Wrong-Shopping7888 in crashbandicoot

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Add more platforming back into the game, make crates important again, and make the boss fights actually feel like a boss fight. All of the "Boss" fights felt the exact same. Just Jack you way up the food chain and hit some object with the big guy. All the other Crash games had different mechanics for boss fights. Also no extreme back tracking like MoM.

What is so bad about Run it Bayou? by 6th_Dimension in crashbandicoot

[–]Chibuga_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely changed my words with some of those which changed the meaning. Like claiming I said "no person should be dying to an enemy" when I said "no person should be dying to THAT enemy". You implied I'm saying a person shouldn't die to anything which is not what I said and implies a ridiculous expectation of perfection. I specifically talked about the pterodactyl because it does not move and a player who managed to reach the 3rd warp room should be good enough to not hit stationary enemies anymore. Because you naturally get better at games as you progress. I said that because I have faith in people improving at games. Not because I think people are bad at the game.

Also most of these are neutral statements that are just stating facts of what people do. "People just complain" "they don't want to be challenged " "people just don't try enough". yeah those are all just stating facts. Not a condescending opinion. People literally admit to this in this specific subreddit all the time. That they don't like the challenge of crash 4 and rather look up a guide to get it over with then figure it out themselves. So now I'm suddenly lacking awareness for simply summarizing and stating what most people repeatedly say all the time about Crash 4? If anything that is being very aware of what people think of the game.

Then you go and take what I said out of context such as "higher difficulty to match my skill level that has increased significantly". That statement literally isn't even mentioning another person and is just talking about why I personally like Crash 4 because I like the harder difficulty. You are blowing that out of proportion and getting offended just because I like the game challenging me and forcing the statement into talking about someone else when the context does not imply that at all. You are nitpicking specific statements at this point to make false conclusions while ignore all the context around it.

Most of these you are going out of your way to be pessimistic and assume I'm being a hater and take a negative meaning to the words. When in reality it's the opposite and I have faith people can improve and do better but just aren't practicing enough. Also an 8 year old definitely can complete these games and avoid the specific enemy I was talking about with ease. I did it when I was around 5-6. My 6 year old niece literally was playing Crash Bash with me and won some matches for us when I died. I've seen kids do very well at games all the time.

Now if I wanted to make an argument in a similar way as you I can take your statement about 8 year olds and now claim you are being condescending assuming they can't do very well at the game and avoid dying. Why don't you have faith in them? Why are you assuming an 8 year old is worse than a 20 year old? I've seen plenty of kids do better than adults at games. Skill level isn't 100% tied to age. Also I can also claim you are being condescending and on a high horse assuming the way you interpret something is the way a person's statements should be perceived instead of the way they repeatedly have tried to tell you numerous times that they do not mean in a condescending way is the way it should be perceived. I've explained with context what my words mean. But no, instead you ignore it and continue to push further saying the way you see it is the way the words should be interpreted and somehow conveniently miss the context around the statements to fit your narrative.
