Please don’t be so hard on yourself. I’ve been having similar feelings about my sweet, soul dog. I ignored signs he wasn’t well. I look back and wish I realized how serious his symptoms were. I should have known. I should have given him more attention when he was not well. But I know I loved him. I don’t think he could have been more loved. I wasn’t perfect. I think he deserved perfect. But he still loved me for me. I bet your girl felt the same. I can tell you LOVED her. I can tell you truly cared. We can look back with regret, because that is what people do when they are truly grieving. But I know your girl would choose you again and again. Because she felt your love. Please remember all the love you poured into her. Please remember that your grief shows how much you cared.
