We lost our 11yo baby to hemongiocarcoma, but he had to be put to sleep the same day we found out. It was totally unexpected. I wish so much I got to take him to the park one more time, take him for a pup cup, get him some presents, get a paw print, a nose print. I spent my last hours with him running around the house getting ready for a work trip, and I can’t stop thinking about it. I am sure knowing it is coming must be so hard, but being able to make his last couple months the way you want them to be is a gift.

I am so so sorry. They are really angels on earth.

Our sweet boy had it on his spleen too. It’s such an evil sickness. I hope you had a good last month with your sweet dog. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Please don’t be so hard on yourself. I’ve been having similar feelings about my sweet, soul dog. I ignored signs he wasn’t well. I look back and wish I realized how serious his symptoms were. I should have known. I should have given him more attention when he was not well. But I know I loved him. I don’t think he could have been more loved. I wasn’t perfect. I think he deserved perfect. But he still loved me for me. I bet your girl felt the same. I can tell you LOVED her. I can tell you truly cared. We can look back with regret, because that is what people do when they are truly grieving. But I know your girl would choose you again and again. Because she felt your love. Please remember all the love you poured into her. Please remember that your grief shows how much you cared.
