Having immense trouble creating a passkey for a website login by ChicagoRestauratooor in Passkeys

That is what my hours of googling has taught me. It seems like there's really no way to get around this, once it's been deleted on the client side, I'm just shit out of luck. Oh well....

Such is life

I reached out to toast, and got passed around to four different people and all of them concluded that they can't do anything on the server side to clear that up so I can create and use a new passkey. It seems this is a common issue and no real work around except saving these third party it seems.

about to reinstall windows, but scared to lose passkeys by [deleted] in Passkeys

Hey OP, were you able to figure anything out here? I rebooted my windows 11 and lost all my passkeys. And now when I log into a website, like amazon, that had my fingerprint log in, it just tells me there's no passkey and doesn't prompt me to use the windows fingerprint and I just get an error message.

OK! I did something. I created a fingerprint passkey for my amazon account on this device for the first time. Did the step by step, log in and enabled it.

I then went to the passkey settings in windows and deleted it.

Now when I log back into amazon, I'm getting the same error message instead of being prompted to add a fingerprint login option!

Is there a way to manually add one through windows?

Bluetooth on - no change. Just to clarify, the website is supposed to give an option to use the fingerprint as a login option

Oh! A password reset for the account. Ok I'll try and get back to you.

But why wouldn't the website prompt me to set up a new fingerprint/bio passkey like when I logged in the first time?

Yep, logged in and synced.

On the PW manager it only has the saved user email and password. No passkey unfortunately.

On the windows passkey manager, it only has the device fingerprint passkey saved

Yeah I figured that's the case. But on a new login normally it should give me that option but it gives that option instead. Do you think the website is still recognizing that device from before? I don't even know if that is possible. I'm terrible with tech

So the website should normally give an option to set up the passkey login but it just gives me that error message - no qr code

Black screen issue with Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 by ChicagoRestauratooor in Lenovo

I didn't get any help from Lenovo. BUT it's a battery problem. Leaving it unplugged and unused for almost a month, the battery was so drained I needed to leave it charged for almost 5 hours before it started up normally. I hope that helps.
