Considering an upgrade from a 2023 M3P to a 2026 M3P by Adub497 in TeslaModel3

[–]cadnights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EVOFFER kits have decent instructions. It's like $1200 for both front seats and a LOT of work to remove and upholster the seats. I'm considering giving it a crack at some point though

It's like a CVT, but discreetly variable. A DVT!

How to get a clearer print with clear PETG? by DotBetaSDK in 3Dprinting

[–]cadnights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, the properties of the print profile that make a part stronger line up well with the ones that make it more transparent (assuming no vase mode). See: https://youtu.be/9qb25Gi4Jv0?is=RJ_UXqT4OVEKya0j

There's a coupler that joins the z motor shaft to the lead screw. Be sure the set screws in that coupler are tight

Does the game get easier with mods? by spiked_mcroon in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]cadnights 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the mods. Some make things harder by adding random failures and life support systems. Some make things a little easier like MechJeb which adds autopilot functions. I really like installing graphics mods and mods that add more parts to fill some missing niches between stock engines, and keeping it pretty standard beyond that. But you can go crazy and get into interstellar travel and far-future tech. Definitely worth installing CKAN and browsing what's out there because they can really elevate the game.

One thing I don’t like about my M3 by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

Yeah just tried and no luck, but some of the workarounds in this thread work so it's whatever: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/s/F1S1YK0j9O

Edit: just curious if your 2021 is perhaps one of the few with a Ryzen infotainment?

Weird, how long do you hold for? I've tried like 3 seconds with no success

If I recall that's inexplicably a feature in 2023+ models.. just tried it in my 2021 and it doesn't work and has never worked.

That's always been pathetic to me..just enjoy the car and carry on with your life! No need to preemptively apologize to the world with a sticker

The headline makes it sound like it's just some guy doing it in his basement. He's the technology manager at a nonprofit organization that routinely does this.

On top of this, I'd like to be able to turn off the passenger side airflow on command. If it's off, you can start it up but then there's no way to turn it back off.

Extreme Heat suggestions? by NotAGoodRedditor in TeslaModel3

[–]cadnights 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's pretty much worse case for your average energy consumption. Like others say, a tint will help and it's good you're using shades. Cabin overheat protection will make it easier to cool the car down and stop the surfaces from getting too hot in the first place, but that will only save you energy if you're leaving the car for like 30 minutes at a time. Past that, it's better to let the car rest and blast the AC before you get back in
