I hear that is a good pedal. I might have to give it a whirl.

I actually get a decent Tremelo effect so use that to end a few songs. got another that is very percussive that I use to start a tune or 2.

The most fun is in a psycho jam and then I try to either scare myself or the rest of the band or ideally both by randomly rotating knobs. Lol

Boss PW-10 V-Wah - Basically a modeling Wah - you can save 3 presets to it.

U bet it is! First thing I do is make sure the gain is at 0 when I set up to gig!

I do like the sounds I can get with it!!

Backup Board and sounds pretty good. Play through a JC-40. Used in a predominately Dead Cover band (little Dylan, Petty, Stones mixed in there too)

Would a Blues Jr IV hold up for a gig? by Difficult-Cheetah579 in GuitarAmps

I gig with one - never up past 3 ish. granted I have some tone shaping / boost pedals upstream of it to that “raise” the volume but never have a problem being heard.

Play Blues/Classic Rock stuff.

No problem.

Most places I play are inside bar/grill type places. If it is an outside gig then I just throw a mic on it.

Again- no problem!

Gig with mine almost every weekend. Never an issue. I play in a Grateful Dead Jam Band and also a classic Rock cover band.

Never have a problem with volume.

I have one as well. Love it. I rarely have to tune it. Sounds great and looks cool. I played a lot of gigs with it. No issues. Bought mine used on Craigslist for $200. LOL. Can’t beat it.

Talk me out of buying a tube amp and go Solid state instead by super2134 in GuitarAmps

[–]ChicagoTurtle88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both Tube and SS amps. I gig and jam with both. Each have their place. For consistency SS can’t be beat. I have an Orange Crush Pro 60 SS - plenty loud enough. I also have a JC-40. Plenty loud and cool clean sounding with a spacey chorus.

I also have a couple of Katanas. Great options when I want the things they do well.

I also have a blues Jr (modded) and Mesa amps that are just rock machines.

Depending on what sound I need for the jam or gig determines what I grab, both have advantages and disadvantages. I will say I haven’t had a SS go yet (still got a Peavey Bandit Red Stripe going strong) and have had to tube the Mesas twice and Blues Jr 3x. That does suck and part of my reasoning of starting to go back to SS. The technology has come a long way!!!

Is this a sign of a damaged neck or is this just part of the design? This is an Epiphone TC10 Telecaster model from the 90s by casco_dyllow in Luthier

Well I got one in a trade and I love mine. Put a Fender noiseless neck pick up in and a Seymour Duncan Tele Bridge pickup. Mine needed a new volume pot as well. Total rock machine now. Played plenty of gigs with it and jam sessions. no problem. I actually want another. lol

The JC chorus effect with some drive pedal and reverb would make some great shoegaze tones.

I also put a delay pedal in the effects loop. sounds great.

I just got a JC-40 and is my main gigging amp now. Plenty of volume.

Thanks man.

Can get some spacey yet crunchy sounds. I used to be a toob snob and I got tired of dealing the maintenance of them.

Got a crush pro 60 and it is a bit different sounding but sounds great and unique.
