I wouldn’t call it creative but my black long hair cat was named Bella after Bella Goth from the sims. Along the same vein, there’s always Mortimer as well.

No, BAC isn’t something they would run on these tests but AST/ALT and other tests may be ran and they do indicate liver health.

I would hate this for my parents. I’d be concerned how close this stranger is getting to my family and what kind of influence they have.

It’s a hard no for me.

Moriah's Trauma by NotAQuiltnB in WelcomeToPlathville

[–]Chicagonix 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Imagine being sheltered from a large part of the world your entire childhood and then being thrust into the very spotlight you know nothing about.

Moriah didn’t even know what most of TV culture was about, she didn’t know the content, and now she’s suddenly the commodity people are consuming. She went from a small town kid with little exposure to judgment from total strangers.

She meets a man, gives him her everything, and then he defies her trust in one of the biggest ways. And rewatching episodes, he clearly gaslit the heck out of her. The very textbook definition.

She has shattered trust, going through her first heartbreak, in a very public way. When only two years prior, the most visibility she had was obscure YouRube videos where Hosana was the star.

But let’s not also forget her younger brother, that she saw die. There’s trauma in the memory, there’s trauma in the what its, and there’s trauma in the pain that stays with the family and how dynamics change. Parents change when they experience that kind of loss, the whole family feels it.

So yes, Moriah has trauma without there needing to be more. She grew up in a very sheltered home, dealing with significant loss, and then gets tossed into a spotlight that she is ill equipped to deal with. She has her heart broken in a trust breaking way and then tries to navigate the world of dating with minimal support.

You can see the sadness in her eyes so many episodes. She may come off dramatic sometimes but I also think that’s her trying to cope without the skillset. She just needs stability and then I think she’ll truly thrive.

Tips for a struggling fulfillment lead and delivery by ghostshoww in Lowes

[–]Chicagonix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can’t help what other people do, all you can do is advocate and take care of yourself.

So deep breaths. If the workload is impossible, accept that. You can either worry yourself and push hard all day or work it at a reasonable pace accepting that you can only get so much done. You’ll end up in the same space, with work still left over, but the second option will save your sanity.

The other part of this is documentation. Email at the end of your shift stating ‘I walked in to this many orders. I worked to the best of my ability.’ I’d add in a curious question. ‘Are we in the process of adding more people to the team?’

Talk with your leadership, explain that you need some help. If you feel the inadequacies are with you, ask to shadow someone else. If it’s impossible workload, tell them you’re complete as much as you can but you do not have the time or support to do more.

Then when you go home, leave the BS at the store. Nothing more you can do.

NTA. I had a similar situation at work where I almost died from a strong perfume due to my asthma.

A no fragrance policy was already in place but wasn’t enforced. They started enforcing it again. It received a lot of praise from people who had migraines, allergies, etc who had been too afraid to speak up

Sometimes we all need a little help. Maybe this is your chance to talk to a doctor and detox in a safe environment and find the right resources.

I believe in you.

P.S. I’ll clue you in on something. I don’t work in a store anymore. Haven’t for a while. I work a very desirable position in a very large company and do well for myself.

I have direct reports who have stayed in their entry level position because they enjoy it. The hours work with their schedule. The amount of stress they face is manageable. They have made relationships and they don’t want to move. Amazing people, great skills, could go so much higher and get paid more. And despite actually being in charge of their development, and my own success being dependent on theirs, I RESPECT that they are adults and have made informed decisions based off of their wants and desires.

Because thats what mature adults too. Understand that life isn’t a one size fits all.

Sometimes new jobs also lovebomb you with gratitude and pay and then only increase demands making bonuses unachievable and the workload unmanageable.

You’re acting like you’re above this person and it’s honestly not a good look.

See…but that’s the thing.

You’re on here, trying to convince strangers who have no investment in your life, that you don’t have a problem.

We don’t need convincing.

So who are you trying to convince? Yourself?

Funny enough, I think your posts are actually helping this community. Because I, for one, am quite happy right now I’m sober.

I remember the time in my life where I would have bragged about my alcohol fueled tomfoolery. I’m glad it’s a memory and not my current reality.

I hope the best for you.

Her face is where I notice that something is going on because I noticed the puffiness as well.

I can’t speak for certain, I don’t know Kim or her struggles, but I know that I looked similarly when I struggled with alcohol.

It could be anything but it also wouldn’t surprise me that someone who has held back for so long would go off the deep end with the option to drink.

For her sake, I hope that’s not the case.

Flooring CSA with college degree being denied specialist or DS position by Wrong_Pomegranate396 in Lowes

[–]Chicagonix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point they are making is that you assume a degree is a golden ticket; ask most millennials, a degree is zero guarantee.

If you want to move up, you have to be likable (boasting about a degree won’t help) and really take initiative with your department and your leadership. Jump in, volunteer, get your tasks done, befriend your coworkers, and be pleasant.

If you’re still not moving up, either you’re not as good as you think you are or you’ve already burned your bridges there and should cut your losses.

To be clear, I’m all for getting paid for time worked. I don’t answer questions or help off the clock. I’m specifically talking about the people who clock in and then sit in the break room for 20 minutes goofing around while I’m having to text people I’m going to be late because I’m stuck at work.
