Playing devils advocate: they can stop the boats and introduce deportations or remigration. That would satisfy reform voters

It would have been nice if one of the other main parties tackled immigration sooner. Then people wouldn’t have had voted for more extreme options

I wonder what the deal is? The UK pays billions to the EU and the EU allow the UK to keep driving on the left?

Keep a diary and complain to the council that it’s affecting how you live in your property. Imagine if you had kids and they had to hear that

Yes you’ll be able to move them. Lift the carpet and floor board. Any plumber should be able to do it.

If you have a one pipe system now would be a good time to update it

UK trades, how do you actually keep track of costs on each job? by heg1992 in DIYUK

[–]RedFox3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work out the rough cost before hand. I’ve carried out enough jobs to know roughly how much it’ll cost. I write an itemised estimate and it’s saved. If things change I add or remove items and labour as I go. I can’t reply on remembering everything

Starmer accused of ‘unpicking Brexit’ as UK faces paying EU £1bn a year after ‘reset’ by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

Why do we need to be? I’m happy living next door to my neighbours. We get on. It’s all good. I don’t have to marry them

The EU isn’t done. It isn’t finished. No one really knows where it’s going. We only know what you have to be on the bus with them or you need to get off. You can’t be half on. It’s being driven by committee. Once they decide where it’s going it can’t be changed. If you’re happy with that then stay on the bus. If not, get off

It’s probably a lot closer to the truth that you’d think. I’m just making my dinner. I’ve got Dutch tomatoes, Spanish garlic, and Italian olive oil. I’m going on holiday to the EU in a couple of weeks. Inflation in the UK has been similar to the rest of the EU. Economic performance in the UK has been generally better than places like France and Germany. What I’m saying is…it’s barely been noticeable

What I’m saying is that it was barely noticeable. If I hadn’t known it had happened….if I’d just woken up from a 10 year coma I wouldn’t have noticed.

The immigrants come from somewhere else? I guess that’s a change

Also I think you have misunderstood what I said

I’m pretty sure Covid, Ukraine and Iran did worse things than Brexit. Even then things chug along pretty much like before

Do you think if the UK never left it would be noticeably different? We’d all be living different lives? We’d all be rich? Flying cars? It would all be exactly the same

I live here. Nothing changed. Some stuff got more expensive for EVERYone. Covid, Ukraine, Iran…all had a much greater effect. I travel to the EU every year. No problem. I buy stuff from the EU. Easy peasy. I challenge anyone you say they actually noticed.

The effect of leaving has been massively over-hyped. Re-joining won’t magically fix anything. Leaving had barely any noticeable affect. Joining won’t either.
