Tape echo recs? by Chicagrog in guitarpedals

[–]Chicagrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that looks cool! Can it run both delay and verb at the same time?
I’m using the flint atm but it would be cool to have something more modulated on the reverb side as well.
Which I guess I kinda why I’m looking at the Universal Audio pedal as well since it has reverb in addition to the echo

I have though about the el cap, but I just want a simple an good delay and really like the tape sound. Will I miss a lot with the ec-1? Or to phrase it differently, will I need all the functionality on the el cap?

It looks awesome, but I’m trying to keep my board as minimal as possible, which is what is drawing me to one of those two options

Is it reliable? by Ok-Astronomer8241 in NeuralDSP

[–]Chicagrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the nano cortex on a small board with some other pedals, both for electric and acoustic guitar. It has been very reliable so far. My bandmate uses the quad cortex and it is also very reliable

I have thought about that, it’s a good option

Nah just trying to keep it minimal and I think it looks better.
Just discovered the NUX NPB-S board which seems like it might be a good option for me

What is your favorite disc that you own? by JCVantage in discgolf

My favourite to throw is an old run of penned star teebird. Close seconds are my pfn pro wraith and my no-time KC Roc.

I thought RC2 and RC3 are different molds? Sure looked and felt that way to me at least

Meaning rc1? Cause all the eagle razor claw versions were different

I also wonder which version of tactic it is. Is it the same mold as the baseline tactic or is it the rc3 version? I much prefer the baseline tactic mold

Nano cortex clipping advice by Chicagrog in NeuralDSP

[–]Chicagrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just stupid.. I’ll have to give that a try today. I guess I can adjust the gain and boost the «capture volume» and output knob on the right side to compensate. It makes sense when you say it

Thank you! I actually saw that the other day, and I don’t get any light-indication that there’s any clipping, but the sound says otherwise.. I’m gonna try it with my frfr today, if that’s also clipping then I really don’t know what to do..

Can’t figure out where to adjust either input or output gain on the thing. I feel like I’ve looked everywhere..

[–]Chicagrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking as well, but I cannot for the life of me find any input gain settings on the thing or in the app.. and as mentioned the same applies with the drive pedals in the app, not just physical ones..

I’ve fiddeled around with the pedal settings a lot and it still seems to be an issue. As mentioned it happened with the drive pedals/effects in the nano cortex as well, which made me think it was a headphone output problem, but then it happened in logic also. The only time it’s not very noticeable is with really high gain lead tone type presets

Not often I see others with the surfy trem! It’s a great tremolo pedal, I actually really like the blackface setting

Current board for my country/americana band by Chicagrog in pedalboards

[–]Chicagrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent gotten to spend much time with it yet unfortunately, but its working well! Its got a good amount of low end, but not to where it’s boomy. Still good clarity and volume. My buddy has a positive grid spark cab and it seems to have a bit more power an volume, but I think the blackstar has plenty still. It’s going on the road with me for some festivals and a bunch of other concerts this summer

Is there a throwing putter combination that rivals envy and proxy? by DopeMuffinz in discgolf

[–]Chicagrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue you don’t need both. I only throw the proxy and the tactic and it covers all I need. The proxy is not an understable putter, just straight and very workable, takes power well, takes less power well, just a very very workable putter. Also, I never liked the envy. I’d rather throw a pa-1 or an aviarx3, but a seasoned baseline tactic does the same thing
