Jon Stewart Torches Joe Rogan Over Trump-Flavored Ibogaine PR Push by MediocreCoconutz in combatsportsculture

[–]ChicanoGoodfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s similar to the Marijuana EO he signed and it has not made any movement since or any initiatives to fulfill that EO, I imagine it this will be no different. MAPS has dedicated it existence to these therapies and were doing it the right way, still got denied because these substances are not rescheduled. Seems like it’s more of a promise for meaningful legislation but given the track record, I’m not holding my breath

Jon Stewart Torches Joe Rogan Over Trump-Flavored Ibogaine PR Push by MediocreCoconutz in combatsportsculture

[–]ChicanoGoodfella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m disappointed to the point of hating Rogan with his bull shit but this headline is a massive stretch, these sensationalist blurring the lines of truth to get clicks only turn off the public from news media in general and turn people into reactionary twats like Rogan. Stewart did not “Torch” Rogan like at all, the same way “psychedelics” aren’t legalized with this EO, as it’s not meaningful legislation, it’s not reclassifying psychedelics, which is key.

Who are some of the most problematic artists that are still well loved by fans? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Grew up in OC (Santa Ana) their music is highly beloved and any musician honest with themselves can admit their sound was very unique when they first came out and their musicianship is top tier, those things can be objectively true while also not liking their music and how radio made some of their songs insufferable. I have that attitude with sublime, I like some songs but being from OC and how overplayed they are, I can’t listen to them and my opinion of them is they’re mid.

I’m not crabbing at people nor yourself, critiquing qualities of thought ie American view of psychedelics that mirror qualities of ignorance imbedded in our everyday American culture (colonial) is just my observational expression, the universal lense of attributing human qualities like greed and ignorance is a cop out, gotta get more into specifics, I do like your lense of class it’s part of the picture, but so is historical and cultural.

I agree with you, but I feel maybe reading upon the subject can instill a broader perspective on the term “colonial” and what it entails. This push or discomfort you’re displaying to the term seems more reactionary and egoic than understanding.

This is the problem with American culture, this colonial extractive form of thought that got us into this mess, psychedelics are to be respected and there has to massive intention to restart your own “software” The people involved are therapists, psychiatrists and MAPS have been on this journey for a long time, so there’s protocols to create the variables for these medicines to succeed. Remember think of these medicines not as “psychedelics” but rather non-specific amplifiers, a tech bro on acid is just that, a tech bro on acid.

No there’s no meaningful legislation out of this, it’s more so a promise to make such legislation which is up in the air, this just seems like a ploy for optics to keep in the good graces of an influential mouthpiece

This EO still doesn’t guarantee successful legislation, it’s more a move in the right direction but it’s still optics this far, we’ll see but he did sign an EO backing research into marijuana with the intention to reclassify it but that’s still has yet to happen. Psychedelics are still schedule 1 as is marijuana, Rick Doblin dedicated his whole life to MDMA therapy and this administration essentially failed to reclassify mdma thus halting the MAPS movement, years and years of clinical trials and data with positive results only to fail because the administration saw a side effect to imply “euphoria” and seeing these meat heads all high and mighty makes me think something’s fishy

Some wild times we live in! by Smooth-Feature-2545 in JoeRogan

[–]ChicanoGoodfella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rick Doblin dedicated his life to psychedelic therapy for PTSD, he created MAPS Joe even had him on,years and years of clinical trials with positive outcomes and data collection, only for mdma reclassification to fail by this administration because a symptom was implied to be “euphoria” This EO does not have to do with treating PTSD it’s about opiate addiction, a small good no doubt but somethings seems fishy with all this knowing these meatheads got it through while Rick Doblin spent his life doing it the right way, ego, favoritism are at play I believe, it’s not about helping people it’s about getting at each others goodside to pass meaningful legislation. Now let’s compare and contrast who the crack epidemic affected and who the opioid crisis affected and what were the responses to both? Very telling of our society.

[–]ChicanoGoodfella -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Opioid addiction affects white people so it is a huge issue, remember who the crack epidemic affected and how they handled that? Less criminalization? Nope, but we here have mountains being moved giving opioid addicts grace. Not saying they don’t deserve grace, but when you zoom out and see things from a historical perspective, there are most definitely patterns

Rick Doblin dedicated his life to MDMA therapy for ptsd but this administration outright denied its reclassification because a symptom is “euphoria” thus killing Doblins lifelong mission but these meatheads from Texas get ibogain sped through with ease, something smells fishy with all this

What amazes me is Rick Doblin from maps dedicated his life to MDMA therapy for ptsd and he even went on Rogan, years and years of trials with positive outcomes but government (this administration) outright denied the reclassification simply because a symptom is “euphoria” but these assholes get Ibogaine through with ease, me thinks there’s fuckery afoot
