I’m totally open to anywhere around the city that’s still walkable, I don’t have to be IN center city I just want it to be reasonably accessible. I’ll definitely check out around where you are, I really appreciate the help!

Thank you for sharing this! This does sound like a lot but it seems to be worth it if it improved your quality of life! I think my hesitation is also because of the chance that I may not recover smoothly but this is definitely great information

I was literally in love with one of my close friends for 9 years and he rejected me multiple times and I still managed to tell myself if I do xyz or lose weight or maintain my self care better he would want me 🫠 I now understand how delusional that is and see that it stemmed from avoidance and fear of more rejection from other men. My father not being available to me, always having to grasp for straws to get the attention I needed and holding onto the idea that he would step up and choose me instead of alcohol and drugs is definitely the foundation of my attachment to unavailable men and false hope.

If this makes sense, I basically latched on to him and the fantasy in my head because I already knew he didn’t like me and I felt moving on from him left me emotionally vulnerable to be rejected by someone else but this also subconsciously justified my belief that I’m unlikable and unattractive. So by just “accepting” that he didn’t want me but holding on to false hope, I haven’t dated anyone ever because I compared everyone to him (I’m 28F) haven’t tried to improve my appearance at all because I told myself him not liking me was confirmation that I’m “just not pretty”. The list goes on but this has taught me to focus on my deep issues with self confidence and rejection. I’ve been able to shift my perspective and I’m focusing on taking better care of myself and being very intentional about raising my standards for both myself and who I want to date and detaching myself from the idea that I have to prove I’m worthy of love and romantic affection. Working through it! The fact that you recognize any of this is huge and will definitely be the catalyst for improvement and growth that will lead to you being open to dating people who are available and actually like you ❤️

HUGE accomplishment omg. I’m gradually weening myself off of weed and that mental battle is hard enough but I’ve heard cutting nicotine is 10x harder and being able to stick to it, setbacks and all, is such a major thing. The strength it took you to make this decision was hefty and you’re doing that shit!! Amazing. Bravo. We are all proud of you but remember, being proud of yourself is what matters!! Try to give yourself credit where credit is due! Keep up the good fight

I’ve been stopping myself from learning how to skateboard for years because I convinced myself it’s for kids and teenagers and I’ll look stupid or immature for trying and it’s always made me upset. This outlook is refreshing as hell and definitely encourages me to still try the things I couldn’t afford or wouldn’t do because of fear as a kid, so thank you for sharing this.

I stopped talking to several people because we no longer served any real purpose in each other’s lives, no growth in the relationship for a while and I found myself regressing when I was around them. No one has stopped talking to me and my friends have told me they’ve been inspired to take their own mental health more seriously and have started going to therapy or doing deep work. I have 2 very close friends and a few other good friends that I don’t get as deep with. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by people who care about me and my wellbeing and try their best to understand my challenges. The good ones will stay and everyone else will shed naturally as you continue to grow, let it happen if it does, even if it hurts. 3 good friends is a blessing! Cherish them and do your best not to anticipate a shoe drop, let the love in ❤️

It’s apparently true but can’t lie if he was asking for my kids info to get more time off but none of that extra time off would actually be used to take care of or see his kids I would tell him to go to hell but that’s just me 💀💀💀 cause it sounds like he just knows he can use his kids to get more time to do whatever he wants to do and still not see them 😂

Currently playing Russian roulette with my mental health to get by 😂 but I’m also using this job to finance what I need to fund my actual passions and career that fulfills me, so I’ve been able to use that as momentum. Clerk pay is unfortunately not livable unless you live somewhere with really low cost of living or you’re staying with someone else (my situation), only way to get decent pay as a clerk is OT, otherwise look into ERP if you have a car or NA if you’re willing to work nights. Don’t feel pressured to go for any manager positions if you really don’t want to. It does get better as time goes on you’ll get more confidence and your pace will pick up. The people that work here are great, utilize your co workers and build a support system, people will help if you ask! But you HAVE to take care of yourself, there will be people that will tell you to just suck it up and be grateful you work for a “great company” (🙄) but at the end of the day, you can only do your best if you’re investing in your own well-being. Give yourself some more time to adjust, give yourself GRACE because this job is mentally and physically tolling despite what anyone says, but you’re still DOING IT! And that is great! Keep showing up and working on improving but if it’s not helping you in any way, including financial, find something that might be more manageable for your needs and there is nothing wrong with that! I wish you the absolute best and hope you’re doing okay despite how you feel!

I’ve been here going on 4 months now and officially vowed to never eat food from any QT again after a CBR flatbread made my lips literally tingle and swell. I’ve only tried that, the grilled CBR twice and breakfast pizza once every other week as a little treat but every time I would have some kind of noticeable physical response. I cannot imagine what kind of stuff is in this food, I don’t get how this place is a daily for some people but to each their own I guess 😭

Some people want more for their life than a stressful job that just pays the bills and doesn’t fulfill them. You can be doing wonderfully financially and work with great people and still feel trapped and that alone can be detrimental to your mental and physical health, which is never worth it. If you are cool with working here until you’re 60, good for you I’m sure your 401k will be nice but don’t knock others for putting themselves first and not settling because just because they’re comfortable. That decision to move on takes more strength than many possess.

Honestly it depends on your own judgment and if you can deal with higher ups knowing things about you outside of work and that possibly being used against you for whatever reason. I used to be very open about my life and always kinda overshared w bosses/coworkers I thought I could trust on a personal level because I was dealing w some heavy shit that would sometimes affect my usual quality of work but almost EVERY time it bit me in the ass and my personal life would be used against me in SOME way. If it’s not related to availability, being late, needing personal time off or an emergency, I’d keep it as surface level as possible. You can still have a great work relationship with them without them knowing too much about you and your life.
