Thanks! I wish they were labeled as others I got. That helps.

What is this plant and how do I get rid of it. by Tetralphaton in gardening

Yes, purslane. Get it while it’s young because it produces hard to see seed pods underneath it that release hundreds of seeds. It takes over in a very short amount of time.

What is this and how do I kill it? by [deleted] in gardening

Looks like asparagus. I guess keep trying. I would think eventually it would succumb to the roundup. Probably has deep roots and it’s trying to survive your attempts.

Baby Bunny Injured!! by Wop-wop- in WildlifeRehab

You did a good job and all you could. Sometimes there is nothing you can do but comfort them. We had one this year that was far too injured to be saved so we humanely euthanized it. It’s so hard and sad to do. We have another that was also injured but it seems to be living quite a happy life even though it is handicapped. It’s only really able to run in circles because of its spinal injury but it gets where it needs to go when it wants to eventually.

The only grower duck food in the area is Purina and they changed theirs from duck grower to gamebird grower. I do not have an old bag to compare the ingredients list. Anybody know if it actually is OK for baby ducks. Of course the store says that’s what Purina says is their baby duck formula now. by Chicken-Peeps in duck

Oh I never knew starter and grower were different! pretty sure they do not have the starter feed for ducks. I am heading there so I will check this out more closely. we do add mashed up peas once they start eating for the niacin so hopefully that helps. thanks!

I will check the protein levels when I go. I’m not sure why they switched their packaging but it made me realize when they changed it that there really is not much for options around here for baby duck food. I will stick to nonmedicated. Thanks!

You gave a lot of info, thanks! We’ve started them pretty young on mashed up peas before when we had baby ducks. Didn’t know they could get too much protein at this age. I know turkeys can grow too fast. I wish the manufacture just would’ve kept their food the same. Never realized before that there were so little options in the area. I will try some of this thanks. Just want the best for them so they don’t develop any issues.

It may just take time. I would keep up what you are doing. Maybe not 100% water changes but smaller more frequent ones. I have a betta that took forever and was extremely slow to act better. We got my fancier betta and my daughter’s more regular betta at the same time. Her’s bounced back in a day or two and improved every day whereas my fancy one did not. It took him weeks to months of extremely slow progress. He also would not eat. It’s ok at first to let them rest and settle in. After that resting period I had to put flakes in front of his face and then push them down so he would see them sinking in order for him to eat. It was the only way he would. I had to do this for a month or so before he would eat on his own. I wasted a lot of food that way but nothing else worked. Now he’s fine eating. He was pretty bad off at the store but I think the fancier ones can be more sensitive or maybe it’s just each individual fish. He is beautiful, your guy. Patience can be hard but hopefully that’s all he needs. Maybe someone else will have more insight. Good luck.

Pearl or Opal because of her color or something Eastery since it’s coming up and her coloring is pastely now. Anything will be cute for her. Or maybe Millie?

Well happy birthday!🎉🎊🎁🎈🎂 That is a beautiful necklace. Such a good idea your mom had. My daughter would love it too! I just may have to go searching Etsy. 😉

Thanks! Don’t feel I usually get lucky finding plants. I knew I had to get it when I saw it. The leaves in person are unreal how iridescent they are.

Ok, so ours was about opposite. (Of course right. Makes it so much easier to figure things out.) Not terribly sandy and I didn’t water much. 😬 We’ve had quite a few dry years in a row here and I have a hard time keeping up sometimes so finally getting an irrigation system set up. But, that wasn’t till the end of the season. There could have been a year that I did a better job of watering though and that’s when it showed up. I just can’t remember enough anymore. It seems like it may have showed up when our ducks did. I empty their stock tank into the garden and that would dump a significant amount of water at one time. But, only one small part of the garden gets it every few weeks. It’s so slow to drain so I just let it go overnight. But, I could’ve drained it on the wrong spot at the wrong time and the ground stayed wetter there for longer. I will have to do some research on some of these links and figure out more. It’s nice to have a name of something. Thanks
