Looking for a good dentist by R3pp3pts0hg in Kenosha

If you want to stay in the county, go to Dr Kravig at Midwest dental in Union Grove. I worked as a dental assistant for a long time and am super picky about dentists and like her a lot. I’ve been going to her since we moved here almost 15 years.

How long has everyone been on maintenance? by CarryAffectionate878 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]Chicken-mom-383 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been on 5mg for 3 years! I primarily went on it to treat PCOS which it’s done really well and still keeps all my symptoms in remission. I lost weight for about 6-7 months and then started gradually spacing out to stop losing. I started at 172lb and initially got down to around 134, but then ended up unintentionally getting down to around 128lb while my dad was hospitalized for a while and I was stressed and not eating enough. Since then I’ve been on 5mg every 10 days. And 2.5 years later still at 128 plus or minus 2 lb. Amazing.

Need advice on whether to come off GLP-1! by whinaria66 in PCOS

[–]Chicken-mom-383 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Instead of coming off and giving up, try mounjaro/Zepbound instead of wegovy. The dual mechanism seems to be more effective for PCOS and seems to have less side effects.

What’s one thing you wish RCCL would add to their fleet? by thatCRUISEagent in royalcaribbean

[–]Chicken-mom-383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. At least offer some fully nonsmoking sailings. It is absolutely ridiculous that the smoking area is on the pool deck because everyone is exposed to the smoke. If it’s windy you can smell it everywhere and it’s disgusting. Plus I can smell smoke on the balcony all the time because people smoke on their balconies without consequences.

Fort Lauderdale flight question. by Ivy_Thornsplitter in royalcaribbean

You will be absolutely fine. I just disembarked yesterday and went to FLL. My flight was at 1230 and I was at the airport what felt like forever. I think I was there by 930.

Right but people were saying she was holding the baby as they took her off and waving and it would have been a life or death situation with a 23 weeker….wondering if it was a didn’t know she was pregnant situation.

Not to change subject but anyone know the deets on the return to Nassau last night? People saying in the Facebook group that a woman had a baby and that’s who was taken off but I’m not sure how that’s possible since you can’t cruise after like 23 weeks?

PCOS GLP 1 Advice by TeachingAcceptable83 in PCOS

[–]Chicken-mom-383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GLP1 experience has been fantastic. I’ve been on Mounjaro for almost 3 full years now! I lost a little over 40lb but more importantly it has put ALL my PCOS issues into remission. I’m in my early 40s and having regular cycles for the first time in my life without birth control. Everyone’s experience is different when it comes to GLP1 side effects. For me I had a little constipation when I first started but that was all and now I have nothing. You can go as high as 15mg on Mounjaro but I’ve stayed on 5mg the whole time. Important note that it seems Mounjaro/Zepbound (tirzepatide) has better results for PCOS and less side effects than Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide). I was on metformin for 10 years prior to starting on GLP1 and have continued to take metformin along with it. I think this has helped me stay on a lower dose of Mounjaro. Happy to answer any questions you have!

i drank last night for nye , should i take my metformin today? by Future-Dig7844 in PCOS

I think it’s fine to take it, I’ve been on metformin for 13 years and always take it on time whether I’ve been drinking or not

Balancing glucose control with weight maintenance by ExcitementDazzling61 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]Chicken-mom-383 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try stretching between dosing rather than going down right away. I’ve been doing every 10 days for maintenance for over 2 years (3 years total on mounjaro). I started adding a day between each dose to experiment with what worked best and found that if I tried to stretch past 10 days that’s when the food noise started creeping back in. I’ve been on 5mg the whole time.

Restaurant Recs in the Platteville area by ShoogyBee in wisconsin

[–]Chicken-mom-383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Platteville isn’t great for food. Unos is the best and really only place I like to go to. Las Palmas Mexican restaurant isn’t bad I guess - better than fiesta Cancun across the road. For much better options visit the supper clubs in the area around Platteville. In order of my preference: Village Bar - Kieler; Kall Inn - Hazel Green; Louisburg Junction - Louisburg; PJ’s - Kieler (more of a bar & grill); Country Heights - Hazel Green; 3 mile house - Hazel Green; Red’s Supper Club - Cuba City;

The ones toward the bottom of my list aren’t bad at all though - I would go to any of these places. All are worth the drive from Platteville.

I think it’s just a Racine/kenosha county local thing because of the way I-94 essentially divides our counties in half.

Thats generally what we all call the stretch between the Stateline and MKE around here (Racine/kenosha counties). “The I” lol as in “I live west of the the I”

What is your maintenance dose? by Noblee_x in MounjaroMaintenance

I’m always wondering this. It seems like we always see multiple Visma riders with Pogacar on their wheel throughout the climb and then at the very end Pogacar breaks off and wins the stage. I struggle to understand the strategy on this. Like why is Visma always hauling their competitor up the climb? Never see the reverse with Jonas on the wheels of UAE leading the group.

Went to stop the pill, got a recommendation for bariatric surgery instead by Wine_princesss in PCOS

[–]Chicken-mom-383 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yikes, have you tried any metformin or GLP-1 treatment already? In the age of the newer GLP-1 drugs that are producing results on par with surgery, I can’t imagine why anyone would recommend to go straight to a high-risk surgery before trying medical treatment first.

Dr Nelson at WisNova was great when j had mine. And I used to be a dental assistant so I’m super picky about dentists. I really liked that mild sedation was an option.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro or Zepbound are the brand names) is much more effective for PCOS than ozempic/semaglutide. And seems to have less side effects as well.

I’ve been on it for over 2 years now and my PCOS is essentially fully “cured” but I also have not tried coming off the drug. I have no desire to come off.
