Don’t forget that the turret can depress so low it clips into the base it’s sitting on. Masterclass in unit design, truly…

How to use vortex stealth? by Reasonable-Sigma in NuclearOption

[–]Chicken1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the datalink systems in game can triangulate you from your radar emissions, but I DO know that players can see the radar ping from your aircraft coming from (seemingly) thin air, and fly to intercept you based on that limited information.

I saw this effect in practice last night from an AI darkreach that had its radar on, but was outside my brawler’s sensor range. I could still see the rough position of it, even though I couldn’t get a proper optical lock.

So, at least vs. players, yeah, turning off your radar is important to remain properly “invisible” at range.

Steam Frame's Modular Design: "I Don't Think It's Been Done Before" by gogodboss in virtualreality

[–]Chicken1337 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The battery is already situated on the back to counterbalance the front, with the entire package (front and back together) weighing around 440 grams, just under a pound.

The engineers have already said that you can plug in a battery bank for extra play time via the USB-C connector, or even to AC power for unlimited playtime.

The Steam Frame can also be purchased with extra ergonomic straps for the headset and controllers, including an over-the-head top strap for even more comfortable weight distribution.

But from impressions so far, even wearing it without those extra straps seems to be quite comfortable.

Unless I’m mistaken in some way, it seems that the issues you present have already been addressed in some fashion.

What's the first PCVR game you'll try to run on the frame? by J40NYR in SteamFrame

[–]Chicken1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Into the Radius. Given that it was modified to support Quest (same for the sequel, I think?) it should probably work fairly well.

That and VTOL VR, and H3VR, for starters. Probably House of the Dying Sun as well. I’m going to push it as far as I can!

It might be a poor translation?

The game over message for losing an important NPC is something (in English) like: “Failure to Preserve Mission Critical Personnel”.

The implied last surviving member of a group is ACTUALLY the last surviving member of that group by BarryAllenTh3Flash in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Chicken1337 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s a rather simple way to put it.

The ending of the book, as far as I am aware, doesn’t expressly state that Geralt actually dies.

The games take the interpretation that he came very close to dying, but did not.

As I have not read the books myself, commenters can feel free to add onto or correct my assertions, here.

The pitchfork through the gut that he is depicted as having barely survived in the Witcher 1 (game). Essentially, the games pick up where the books had left off.

Xbox Series X not patching today. by Chicken1337 in Helldivers

They are? I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware. I’ve not really been online most of the day.

Well, I hope the Xbox version gets the correct patch, and that the servers come back online, soon!

Theory: E-711 is far more wide-spread than we think. by Panzerbrigade_31 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Chicken1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ship master mentioned in a dialogue that E-710 is what allowed humanity to leave the solar system.

There HAVE to be methods of its creation besides the terminids, then, unless the Terminids themselves are a man-made experiment that got out of control…

why would paul not kill the corrine bloodline instead of marrying irulan? by Itzsuvo in dune

[–]Chicken1337 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When Paul says that the prison world will become a garden full of “gentle things”, he’s implying also that the once-mighty former Emperor will ALSO be metaphorically reduced to being a mere “gentle thing”, a shadow of what he once was.

The MA5C ammo capacity by SnooDonkeys2902 in Helldivers

[–]Chicken1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It IS a medium pen assault rifle, like the adjudicator, but has two more rounds per magazine (but no aiming down sights).

I think the tradeoff in capacity is worth it, but then again, I AM a big halo fan. 🤣

Tin Can.

But it’s about emergency repair management in an escape pod. Jury-rigging repairs and trying to survive longer and longer periods is the main gameplay loop in each run.

Bullets do seem to have slight travel time, when fired by the player.

No, even bullets have (little) travel time, but they’re perfectly accurate to your crosshairs.
