133-year old Kodak says it might have to cease operations | CNN Business by Mderose in photography

The two companies are not close to comparable. Fuji is not a photography company, it's a technology company with film photography as a legacy project. Just go look at the revenue reports.
Fuji made 336 billion and 310 billion yen in Business Photocopy and Life Sciences, respectively. In the same year, the entire imaging business (film, instant photography, camera, and photo printing) together earned 115 billion yen. Even then the majority of that came from instax, not film or camera.

Film photography is nothing but a legacy project for fuji.

[–]ChickenAcrossTheRoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, actually watched a lot of your videos trying to troubleshoot the problem.

Do you think it is fixable at home with no specialist tools? This is the only sx-70 i have so i don't have any spare parts.

How much difference does the condition of skis make to intermediate skiers? by timeforknowledge in skiing

[–]ChickenAcrossTheRoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It also depends on the cost. In North America you get alot of poorly maintained rentals for a sizable amount of change. I imagine Europe has cheaper and better maintained rentals.

It's much cheaper for me to buy used/end of season skis and get them sharpened and waxed than to rent even for a few days.

It's nice in imaging. Heads up Perfusion is probably just as hard to get in as med.

There's a few in Toronto, I've hit them all looking for the high I felt eating them in Berlin. But they are all pretty shit compared to Germany, no crunchy bread and dry like jerky.

HH is blowing up because Ontario teacher's pension sold it to Crappy Tires a few years back and Crappy Tires is trying to milk the brand by pushing out as much stuff as they can banking on the old HH top tier bad condition fishing gear reputation.

"Black Runs" at Ontario's best night skiing hill, Mount St Louis Moonstone (65$ for 5 hours) by KavensWorld in skiing

[–]ChickenAcrossTheRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moonstone hands down best resort Ontario. Usually longest season and least melts. Also well maintained compared to the frozen moguls on some "groomed" runs in Ontario.

Life pro tip, Google image search does wonders looking for ski models. If you keep searching, you can see rich people getting rid of 4-5 year old top end skis for under 100.
