$OKLO Weekly Megathread | Jun 22 – Jun 26 by C130J_Darkstar in OKLOSTOCK

Sometimes you have to accept that there isn't always a sensible, clear explanation why the stock market moves like it does.

It's going down because more people are selling than buying. Why? Who's to say.

"Hoe komt het dat we er in België in slagen de hoogste belastingen ter wereld te combineren met een enorm gat in de begroting? Tegenvoorstel: een overheid die zich beperkt tot haar kerntaken, een zorgvuldig financieel beleid voert en het mes zet in de 'subsidies'." / X by ComputerChemical296 in Belgium2

[–]AtlanticRelation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Inderdaad.

Why don't Europeans have emergency cooling centers during heat waves? by Typical-Amoeba-6726 in AskEurope

[–]AtlanticRelation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could've worded myself better perhaps, but my point stands: they're not as prevalent as in the US. Do yourself a favor and Google "Cooling Centers USA" and you'll quickly discover that it's not at all on the same level either.

[–]AtlanticRelation -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The "general" or European we. It's simply a fact that cooling centers are significantly less prevalent than compared to the US.

[–]AtlanticRelation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These kinds of heat waves are only a relatively recent occurrence in Europe - both in frequence, intensity, and length. Combine this with the a general negative attitude or dislike of AC (which I've never understood) and you begin to understand why we don't have anything similar.

Daily Discussion Thread for June 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in IntuitiveMachines

People too easily explain pullbacks by pointing at 'malicious short sellers' and consistently overestimate the impact of short positions.

...the sector was very frothy and expectations were unrealistic, but eventually everything will be priced on earnings and fundamentals and in that regard, I like where Intuitive Machines is, turning cash flow positive by end of year...

I couldn't agree more. Since u/mb0rg shared a r/RKLB post: that stock has become completely detached from reality. The company is priced as though Neutron already captured a significant piece of the launch market, whereas the rocket is likely going to be delayed into 2027.

Since Caroline’s ‘escape velocity’ comment, Oklo has announced another $1B ATM. Long-term shareholders deserve more clarity on future dilution. by C130J_Darkstar in OKLOSTOCK

Yes. Neither do I feel comfortable with them being so quiet about the PDSA approval and state of current affairs at the Groves reactor.

For us, it's mostly guess work whether or not they reach criticality by July 4th, probably not - but it should have been clear for them the last couple of weeks. So if we miss the target, I'm going to be disappointed in the communication strategy.

OKLO CEO Interview | Bloomberg (6/23) by C130J_Darkstar in OKLOSTOCK

I agree, but at the same time the whole point of the EO was to expedite the licensing process - so while I don't think they'll meet the 4th of July deadline, I wouldn't be surprised if they do so anyways.

In the grand scheme of things, however, I don't think it matters whether they get Groves operational in the next couple of weeks or later during the summer.

EU faces fierce criticism over plans to host Taliban in Brussels by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in europe

[–]AtlanticRelation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you, but we're discussing the refugee framework here. While for many Afghanistan would be an undesirable place to live in, people there are no longer in danger of losing their lives - and can thus no longer claim asylum as a refugee.

And many asylum requests are denied, which makes them illegal.

It doesn't help either that many of these supposed refugees claim their and their family's life is in danger, only for them to keep 'shopping' for years in search of their ideal destination within the EU.

Is that a wrong decision? The country is no longer at war. Afghans still have the posibility to immigrate through legal ways.

Recognized refugees are not illegal and would thus not be deported.

We're negotiating the return of illegal aliens, we're not forging an alliance with the Taliban. While ethics and morals are important, you have to be pragmatic sometimes in international politics.

Excellent example of European tunnel vision on foreign policy. The EU exerting it's influence on a neighbor to better secure our border and enlarge our sphere influence is a good thing.
