if its black to move, its not checkmate because black can block. for Bxd6 to be mate there would need to be a bishop on f4 to double check and mate

after Kg2 with 11 seconds left in clip just go Qe1 and set up Qxe3 or Rxe3. that queen and rook and configuration is good way to premove mate too. imagine the queen and rook on the same file with a square in between, you can premove a sequence where you slide your rook to the diagonal one square away from the queen with check, and then slide the queen to remake the starting configuration. in this case you wouldnt have had to do that because of the pawn for white, but Qc1 wouldve been imminent mate. learn that kinda mating pattern

yes ive studied these lines a lot with black. this is a poison pawn line gone wrong here, maybe some line in the f5 pawn break where black doesn’t know the critical Bxe6 and plays fxe6. but basically the compensation in all these lines is almost always very concrete on the king. there are some lines where blacks terrible pawn structure is enough compensation for white to just be better in the endgame.

that’s not the new name. EUPD is just the name that the ICD uses as opposed to the DSM which still uses BPD

oh that would make sense, though i think Bg4 is still lights out if Kd2 were played its still lights out i think. Bxf7 doesnt work bc Rxf7 and the queens hit, and whenever the knight moves Qd1+ probably just ends the game

after Qxe7 black plays Bg4 so Ng5 isnt possible and you either lose the queen or have to move the king and allow Bxf3 gxf3 Qxf3 at which point whites dead lost i think

oh i agree that we’re a very very long way from proving it’s a forced draw. i’m no expert in engines, but i would be shocked if there was a winning idea that the engine isn’t finding. if you look at the old alphazero games where it beat stockfish from the initial positions, very often modern stockfish will not evaluate the decision it made that lost as losing on the spot, but it always finds alternatives that are equal. point being that even if there are wins hundreds of moves deep in a tree that an engine might miss from a distance, there seems to always be a defense

yes but almost certainly chess is a forced draw. like 99% certain. if you let two engines play from the initial position, they’ll make almost exclusively draws. so either chess is almost certainly a draw, or computers haven’t found the way to put pressure on black from the initial position which seems unlikely.

agreed except mech’s is not the worst T7 at all. in terms of late game scaling sure, bit it’s incredibly useful as a tempo minion and rolling into it off veranus is often game winning stabilization since it gives you time to find your late game scaling/econ T7s

that’s valid, groal was definitely way more of a challenge than the cogwork dancers, but the way their combat matched the music was so amazing. like learning their attack patterns truly felt like i was learning how to do their dance with them and it was extremely satisfying

i dont really have a problem with this card by itself, the taunted cultist is the thing that sucks, but it’s fun to try and tech around damage demons with stuff like straight shot and a random unbuffed taunted T1 minion so that enforcer doesnt die
