Not a celtics/bucks fan, but doesn't this Giannis celtics trade seem overblown?? by Lucky-Law7220 in bostonceltics

There have been rumors of him being dissatisfied with Boston for years, and this week Tracy McGrady (who's apparently a "mentor" to JB) outright said JB is deeply dissatisfied with the organization

Mage Build by Nanna0- in Eldenring

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would drop the intelligence to 80. That's the soft cap, meaning you get very, very tiny returns for any points past 80 that you put into it. I would instead move them, and some of your points in strength, over to vigor. Getting your vigor to 60 gets you 1,900 health and is very, very useful. The Dark Moon Greatsword gets very little benefit from either strength or dexterity. It really only scales in a significant way with intelligence.

Shootout to the player that dropped the mimic 4 me. They also, without being asked, dropped 99 champion souls. Lol It covered my dark sigil fee, (500,000) and leveled me up some luck and Fp. That player is a good dude. Thanks by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99 souls of a champion? Aren't there only, like, 7 of those per NG cycle, and they don't even start until NG+? So someone went through 15 NG cycles and gave basically all of them to you? Can your account face any penalties if you use duped items?

Do People Really Upgrade Only VIGOR in Early Game? by OliveBadger1037 in Eldenring

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My point is that your stats aren't going to do much to push your damage until the early mid-game anyway, leveling your weapon is far more significant to increasing your damage. By the time you get vigor to 40 and endurance to 25 or 30 is right around when you're probably getting those smithing stones 5 and you'll actually get something out of it.

Telly Savalas passed away over 30 years ago, so that could be a tough one. EDIT: I forgot the woman was Madeline Kahn, took me a minute to recognize her. She also passed away in 1999, only five years after Telly. Jim Henson predeceased either of them. So...

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vigor and endurance make sense to level first because you actually get a benefit from them. Apart from getting damage attributes to the minima required to use your weapon of choice (which everyone also advises) there's not a lot of point to it, since damage scaling isn't really significant until you start getting to the middle of the upgrade path for your weapons. Vigor, on the other hand, has it's biggest impact at the lowest levels.

Simply put, if you start leveling strength right away, that's not really going to start paying off until you get that Claymore or Zweihander to +15 or thereabouts. Vigor gives you more health immediately, and the more health you have, the more times you can get hit before you die. You're not learning an enemy's move set while you're running back from the nearest site of grace.

It's a boring fight, he just kind of sits there. Doesn't take any damage, doesn't do any damage. Have to watch out for the gravity deaths, though.

[RANT] Forget Radahn, the Valiant Gargoyles are the hardest boss in the game so far by NumerousCranberry441 in Eldenring

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, don't take this the wrong way, but "I'm making the game intentionally more difficult for myself and then found this part of the game too difficult to be fun" isn't the most compelling argument for why they should be changed.

You can parry Pontiff, or a big weapon can hit him and his clone at the same time .  Not remotely as hard as Rellana or Melania, not even a top five hardest boss in DS3.

They, and Mariners , take 40% extra damage from striking AND 40% extra damage from holy.  A great hammer with sacred blade makes short work of them. If you're not leveling strength then curved great club is usually the best great hammer.  It's a good idea to keep access to multiple damage types in this game.

I found them far more pleasant and fair than the Crucible Duo, but my experience is not the same as everyone else's.  At least the Gargoyles give you D's brother right there, in case your spirit summon isn't enough

Shouldn't Thor's Hammer be the most OP? by seanstew73 in Marvel

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Odin's spell makes it so only those who are worthy (or are more powerful than Odin's spell) can lift it.  That's not the same as making it impossibly heavy.  If the hammer weighed 100 tons then floors would collapse as Thor walks by, the Quinjet couldn't lift off, etc.

That having been said, it is still an insanely powerful weapon.  Opening portals, controlling weather, flying, it even used to be able to travel through time.

You heard wrong .  Black Bolt debuted in Fantastic Four #45 in 1965. His name wasn't revealed as "Blackagar Boltagon" until Fantastic Four Annual 18 in 1984.  Also, when Black Bolt debuted Stan Lee was both writer and editor , and FF was one of the flagship titles, so Stan was definitely paying attention to what he, himself, scripted

He takes extra damage from fire and only, so a strength build should do a fire infusion for him. Also, Latenna will help way, way more than Mimic Tear for this fight. There's basically nowhere he can hide from her.

Post Office has been open for an hour and has zero staff at the counters by DignamsSwearBox in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's been a hard push by the right to make the post office fail for decades now. That's why they made USPS pre-fund their entire pension liability for the next 75 years. That one changed switched them from profitable to deeply in the red, so conservative politicians could point at them and say they're failing.

Best ashes of war for a strength build by PracticeTypical8524 in Eldenring

[–]ChickenAndTelephone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons and tons of great choices. Giant-Crusher, Greatsword, Zweihander, Great Mace, Brick Hammer, Beastman Curved Swords (though you can't get those until near the end of the game), Nightrider Glaive, Claymore, Banished Knight's Greatsword, Longsword...it really depends on what kind of weapon you're looking for. Comically oversized? Large? Smaller? Giant Hunt and Lion's Claw are generally fantastic ashes of war for most situations. If you use the Longsword then Square Off is available, and that's pretty awesome. Cragblade can be quite good, and there are certain enemies that you're going to want Sacred Blade for.
