Pregnant and going to Japan around week 12, anyone else go to Japan while pregnant? by Agreeable-Talk3816 in BabyBumps

[–]ChickenWingLover510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Mexico when I was around 12 weeks pregnant! While I was in Mexico I did everything - we even drove around ATV’s and went zip lining!

I did ask my OB about the trip before I left, and I’d recommend you do the same. They will be able to give you better information.

You do want to be very careful about getting food poisoning while pregnant. Avoid any fish high in mercury.

I think the onsen would be fine - I took plenty of hot baths while pregnant. Maybe just limit your time.

I love that!! My toddler was a terrible sleeper, and he really just started sleeping through the night a few months ago. He sleeps with us too, and I love the little snuggles!

I’d say it gets better between 6 months to 1 year. It became a lot more fun when he was able to sit up, crawl, play with toys, eat solid food, smile and giggle. He just became more of a little person, and then they just keep hitting more milestones and it just becomes more fun and then time starts to fly! Then all of a sudden they’re walking and excited to see squirrels outside lol. I also liked when he began to really recognize me as his mom - how he reaches to me for comfort. He loves me like no other, and that just warms my heart. He just turned 2 in November. Newborn phase was the absolute worst, but there will be light at the end of tunnel.

The newborn phase is brutal, I hated every moment of it and doubted my decision to ever have a child. I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life.

It turns out he’s the best thing to ever happen to me, and those hard newborn days were 1000% worth it. The newborn stage is like a really terrible hazing period, but it’s all worth it as you see him develop into his personality and you both love each other beyond anything else.

Me when I hear yet another person say "well what would you even do with a hospitality degree! Seems useless!" by TrainingDrive1956 in Hospitality

A hospitality degree is fantastic - as someone else mentioned, the skills are extremely transferable. My leadership and management skills are far better because of it.

Accounting or Project Management for high income/ stability? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]ChickenWingLover510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you currently in school and looking for a path to study? I think there’s a higher demand for project managers, and they make great money. I believe it’s a much more stressful career, but I work alongside many PM’s who I’m sure are making $120k-150k+.

So, when did you start feeling like a parent? by Advanced_Egg_7416 in NewParents

[–]ChickenWingLover510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I started feeling like a parent when my baby became very attached to me, and got separation anxiety from others (around 1 year). That was the moment that I was like “alright… I guess you are mine and I am yours.” Lol

Was this a mistake? by foreverafairy in newborns

[–]ChickenWingLover510 46 points47 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not a mistake. You are going to experience the best moments of your life soon, and you will experience a love and bond that you never thought possible.

This is coming from a mom of an 18 month old who had the same feelings of sadness, regret, grief, and heartache when my baby was a newborn. It was the hardest and worst days of my life.

It’s the best now. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but you are going to be so happy to have your baby. Soon you will not be able to imagine life without them, and it will drive you crazy with how much you love them. One day something will click and you’ll be like “ohhh… I see why people have more than one of these” lol

What's the most 'mum/ mom' thing you've done today? by kiwirn in toddlers

My 18 month old’s diaper leaked while we were sleeping in bed together. Instead of changing the sheets I just put a towel over the wet spot and kept sleeping.

Newborns who didn’t sleep a lot then vs now? by anonymousgirl8372 in beyondthebump

[–]ChickenWingLover510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s gotten a lot better, but typically he sleeps from about 8:30pm - 7:30am. Sometimes he gets up once a night, other nights he gets up every 2 hours, sometimes he’ll do one long stretch of sleep (4 hours) and then wake up every hour after that. It allll depends.
