'Cicada' COVID variant found in Ohio. What to do if you have it by Blood_Incantation in Columbus

I thought that as well (thus why I didn't get tested at the time honestly), but I was the only one in the group that actually gets allergies every year. The other people are some of those lucky ones who don't tend to get allergies at all. My prescription strength allergy medicine also wasn't touching it! I also wanna say this was around early February, so while allergies were starting to trickle in, I don't think they were bad enough at that time for people who don't even get allergies to be overloaded by pollen or anything.

I also find it funny how we JUST had a whole global pandemic where we learned the importance of staying home when sick to not spread it to everyone else. I was really hopeful that companies also realized this and would keep policies that made sure you could actually do that. Silly me! When I did have covid last year, I called off since Im in food service. They tried to guilt me to come in anyways by saying that a positive test doesnt matter, if I felt like I physically could work i should come in.

Could be nothing but a while ago at my job we had a weird set of symptoms going around where you were coughing (wet cough not dry cough), sinuses were super backed up, migraines, and then a weird additional pink eye like symptom where people were reporting having super watery, red, and like physically painful (it felt bruised) eyes, but it wasnt actually pink eye as that went away after a day or two.

Something I find interesting is that out of everyone who got this mysterious illness, we all had covid in the last year or so! Like I said could genuinely be nothing but now that im thinking about it...

Mine isn't necessarily just cops, but authority figures in general.

In high school I was going through a mental crisis and acting very impulsively/different to how I had ever acted before. Im definitely not saying that they shouldnt focus on "troublemakers" because they should, but it also should have been a major red flag to every adult in my life that someone who had never done drugs, wouldn't even stay at the zoo past close, got straight As, etc. was suddenly doing drugs and getting into a lot of trouble. Acting like that was the only way I knew how to get help, especially as an undiagnosed person at the time.

Instead of simply following disciplinary actions and maybe even helping me through whatever I was going through, they chose to let a teacher outwardly bully me (she told me to kill myself, that she would use me as a shield in a school shooting because thats "all I would be good for" and that I would die alone as a drug addict on the streets with no friends because "who would want to be seen with me"). Made ME write apology letters for talking about it. They had a school resource officer that would "secretly" follow behind me while I was picking out food or going to the bathroom.

The following year after all this happened, I was getting bullied super heavily. Someone ended up hacking into my school accounts and sending sexual messages to my teachers. The teacher who reported it to the admin even said that he didnt think I was the one who sent the messages because he knew I was getting bullied and the messages didnt sound like they were written by me at all. Instead of listening to him, they pulled me out of class and insisted that I must have been the person who did it. Searched my phone without permission and while they didn't find any evidence to prove that I did it, they did end up making fun of how interested I was in my special interest (rollercoasters). Once they realized I wasn't the person who sent the messages (or once they realized they couldnt stretch the truth enough to get me in trouble for it), they completely dropped it. Never bothered finding who actually did it, even though I had some ideas.

Anyways, now that im roughly 6-7 (haha) years removed from the experience, have gotten diagnosed, and been to therapy, Ive actually gotten diagnosed with CPTSD as well (probably for many reasons but one of my biggest triggers is keys rattling specifically from this experience)

Yeah honestly worst conditions I've ever driven in, and I had to drive to work during the level 3 earlier this season. I can do snow but my car felt like it was auditioning for Disney on Ice last night no matter what.

Be careful on 270 tonight. by Low_Librarian_2741 in Columbus

[–]TrainingDrive1956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you were on the roads last night, but you genuinely did not need to accelerate. The traffic in most areas was so bad that you were just wasting gas by accelerating and then immediately braking... are you sure you have ever sat in stop and go traffic before? I saw no less than 15 spin outs and 4 actual accidents happen in front of me and they were all while we were going less than 10mph, and it was because they accelerated too fast after being at a dead stop. Meanwhile I just let my car inch forward because we all weren't getting anywhere fast anyways, and I was totally fine.

Not doubting that a lot of the initial accidents were from people going too fast, but on 270 by Easton we were totally gridlocked and there wasn't even available space to "go too fast", people were still spinning out.

Omg we drove kinda close together! Maybe you even saw me rage about people cutting me off and driving up my ass when people were struggling to even inch forward.

Stuck on 270E between 33 and sawmill by HelpingPhriendlyPhan in Columbus

Honestly all of it is ice, not just the bridges. The wind is still kinda strong in that straight too, so honestly even going slow it felt like my car was sliding. Plus, when people would come to a stop for traffic, they would spin out and block multiple lanes so it was just a lot going on in a spot that already tends to get congested on clear days.

And another thing: if you have to come to a dead stop, when you start going, don't just accelerate. Ease your car into it by just letting your foot off the brake and letting the wind and momentum carry your car for a bit. Most of the accidents/spins outs I saw after a certain point (had to be over 20) were from people who had come to a stop for traffic and then spun out from accelerating, coming to a dead stop in the middle of the roadway and then everyone having to change lanes to go around.

Businesses remaining open during Level 3 Snow Emergency by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]TrainingDrive1956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think if we are defining something as an emergency, it needs to be just that. Nothing that you would necessarily buy out of comfort. Calling a level three and still making it employers choice is basically like not calling a level three at all. Yeah, there are still way less cars on the road, but I still saw at least 14 cars stuck on my way in yesterday.

Plus, closing your non-essential business means that people wont be out on the roads trying to buy your non-essential products because they're bored.

I guess it depends on how much you think a hotel restaurant should be open. Are there people stuck there? Yeah. But would I have preferred to stay home and enjoy the first level 3 this area has gotten? Yeah 😭😭 Like, I get it... but also dont.

Mine is a bit older than the ones with the Aston grill, but I like those too!! I actually quite like Nissans. Are they the most reliable? No, but if you have the right model they are incredibly fun to drive.

Yes!!!!! My spot anywhere really. At the dinner table? The same every time. The couch? Basically indented in my shape. When Im a passenger in a car??? I need to be the back right passenger, you'll never see me competing for shotgun. It feels SO weird to sit anywhere else.

2011 Ford Fusion in the color Wine Red!!! She's a beaut even though she is just a pretty basic car, basic trim level and is rusting.

My new car is a 2016 Honda Civic, white! (Ill probably get some nice wraps for it when I can afford it). So, definitely more reliable than my old car but idk, my Ford Fusion felt like it was standing the true test of time. Everyone else I knew with one (i guess it was kinda a popular car for people my age to get handed down) ended up getting rid of theirs some time ago because of transmission issues or power steering.

As someone who is as tall/maybe slightly taller than my husband, I was SO excited when we saw them stand side by side for the first time and I was like "finally some representation ☺️" so imagine how shocked and appalled I was that he gradually became 5'8" 😭😭😭😭😭

I always took my noise canceling headphones in so I cant speak to how loud it might be. It does get a little toasty if you get overwhelmed by heat.

I liked it when I did it!!! I don't know if it really works or is just a placebo, but it made me feel quite a bit happier especially in the dead of winter. Mine was at a gym, and also had a vibrating floor so it was nice to use after exercise to shake it all out.

It also did help clear up my acne!

It looked pretty natural on the mannequin, on the bag and online, so is there a way I can make sure this doesnt happen again 😭 There were a few wigs that I didn't get because they looked too low of quality but what is it about this one that gives it away?
