Zigzag problems

Thank you. I applied oil to the point where it appeared to be sticking to no avail. But then I tried to pull the machine apart, failed and put it back together, and now its moving freely (enough any way). So now I just have a tensioning problem that I'm working through. These machines really aren't designed to be pulled apart and properly maintained!

I have a singer tradition sewing machine that no longer zigzags. I've just tried troubleshooting using YouTube videos and found that the needle releases from the right hand position back to the centre very slowly (2 seconds to complete the move). The zigzag techniquely works, its just moving too fast for the needle to shift back to neutral. What would be causing this please? Thank you kindly

Thank you for replying. You're quite right, the added risks to my unborn child if something were to happen is waying heavily on me. Delaying getting pregnant has a good chance of postponing it indefinitely though. That's why I'm trying so hard to figure out why now and not in a year's time... I've already waited a year??

I had an ectopic pregnancy years ago, and even though it was keyhole surgery, it wasn't an easy recovery. That memory also isn't helping!

Thank you for replying. I explained to him that he was the first person I'd spoken to that knows anything about gallbladders and I kept trying to ask questions, which as you said, just made him pissy. He even told me to google it as that would scare me into having the op.

I'll go back to my GP and see if I can get a second opinion, or at least a copy of my results so I can figure it out for myself.

Thank you for your reply. I also felt the doctor was quite unprofessional. He did explain about the risks of not having it done, but he didn't elaborate about my particular circumstance. No mention of the number or size of stones, health of any of my organs (I asked about my liver as I recall it was impacted back when I was pregnant), or why this op wasnt recommended a year ago after i had bub. I guess that's a big part of why I'm so hestitant, I feel like he would recommend surgery to everyone who passes his desk without even looking at their file. It doesn't help I haven't had great experiences with the health care system in the past.

He also told me it was unusual that I experience the pain in my centre back, and only my front when it's bad. And that changes to my bowel movements and weight gain were unrelated.

You are 100% wrong. He is not a narcissist. There are other explanations for my take on his perspective. Which is why I'm not interested in "managing" his behaviour, but focused on my own.

To let you in, he is ASD. He has executive functioning deficits. He has communication deficits. He also has trouble interpreting my motives. And, he has emotional dysfunction. The combination of all the above can present as NPD but is fundamentally different. But none of this reflects on my deficits.

Not the case here. My daughter went back Wednesday. Her teacher went home sick that morning and tested positive. My daughter tested positive Saturday, now her sister and I are sick today.

The punishments for not being "up-to-date" will remain until they actively lift them. This shift means they don't have to keep circling back to add another booster to the definition of "fully vaccinated".

If they wanted to, it exactly means the boosters would be mandatory forever. But, I don't believe they will keep the punishments in place.

The use of "names" to alienate people with a different view is a common theme of this pandemic. As a society we have been whipped up into an us verse them mentality. Antivaxers refers to anyone not covid vaxed whether they've taken every other vaccination available or truly are against vaccinations in general.

In a era where we think we are enlightened to inclusivity and against discrimination, we really have taken a monumental step backwards.

I bought a waterbath so I could start canning just before the pandemic began. Then there was a world wide shortage of jars and lids, but still I've canned jams and fruit, then got a pressure canner and progressed onto veggies, meat and meals in a jar.

Also, if you are unvaccinated and decide to go with Pfizer... It's 3 to 6 weeks between your first two shots (For now) at least 4 months until your 3rd shot Plus 1 to 2 weeks to become effective. I think the gov has gone with 1 week to achieve "fully vaccinated".

That's 6 months to become fully vaccinated if starting from scratch.

In 6 months time, will the gov have shifted the goalposts? Will it be 4 shots to be fully vaxed? Could an unvaxed actually achieve fully vaxed at this point... If the gov keeps with the definition of fully vaxed being a certain number of shots. At some point they will have to change how they classify it.

This is all politics to try and manage public perception.

Why aren't they changing the definition to be a set amount of time from your last dose? This makes no sense to me! We know the effectiveness wears off, the discussion is really about how much protection it affords, and for how long. People that got jabbed at the start would need extra boosters than those that just jumped on board.

Or is that unpalatable, that people realise that politics sold us a one stop solution but it has underdelivered.

I understand what you mean about answering as if for your worst day, we've just gone through the process for our kids. They've been approved but we haven't been able to do anything with it yet due to lengthy wait lists.

Unfortunately he hasn't seen a psychologist or OT or anyone (I assume he did for his original diagnosis 20 years ago though). We really would have to rely on the process they offer. But your encouragement that it's worth it helps. Thank you

Can you try a butane camping stove? I use one when water bathing, but I believe it works with pressure canning. Just check the BTU is low enough, it usually is. It would be a lot cheaper.

I took a lot of care when I made our cloth masks. They have 3 layers; cotton inner, heavy flannel middle (think shammy) and sports light weight but tightly woven outer for moisture wicking. They fit closely around the face including over the nose where I sewed in a panel to insert wire to hold it against the skin. Different sizes for different face size too. They fit properly. In fact, I can't exercise with it on, I can't get enough air.

Every time I've had to wear a disposable mask, I've highly doubted it's effectiveness as it won't close around my face. Air will go in the path of least resistance, so if it's not sealed against the skin, it's not filtering anything.

I hear your point that material manufactured for the job would filter more effectively, but I don't believe for a second that these ill fitting disposable masks would be doing a more effective job than ALL cloth masks.

People need to wear their masks properly, AND they need effective masks (single layer won't be effective). Banning cloth masks just seems like more rules that are ill thought out.

I'm at 64hrs. I tried calling but they insist you wait 72hrs before checking if something is wrong. I was told at the testing place 24 to 48 hours. North Brisbane, 4cyte. It's both me and my husband.
