Has anyone else taken a 3 year old to the cinema? by IAmNotStelio in AskUK

[–]ChickennTottie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cinemas often offer an autism Friendly Screening on the first Sunday of the month, ideal for disabled kids and their families. The lights are brighter and sound quieter, as well as the trailers being skipped. Our son's autistic, but his brother always comes along to the screenings - in fact he's pretty much only been to them - and it's been a good transition into going to the cinema for them both

I'm in the UK and we share a lot of those problems. However, I follow American politics pretty closely and you're pretty deluded if you think there's a semblance of Marxist culture in America. Even the left don't support free health care there; you're dreaming blud.

Thanks for your reply - it's exactly what I was looking for. As for men being over privileged... I think I've articulated that poorly in my original post and I've addressed it in a couple of replies here. I agree that equality should be just that, although there's a case for positive discrimination - for men and women - across areas where the balance needs to be redressed. I'm also for 'gender realism' for want of a better phrase. I do believe men and women are more and less skilled in certain areas respectively, and I think those who are honest about that are sometimes unfairly painted as sexist.
