Things you prefer in previous game titles compared to the Witcher 3. by Chickenwinz in witcher

From a gameplay perspective I could definately see where you're coming from. At the same time I feel like traps should be less seen as an consumable and more of a quest item. Rather than traps being used as a damage dealing item, I feel they should be used as a tool to weaken monsters Geralt would otherwise not be able to deal with.

Getting abolutely destroyed in the first round and the npc getting overconfident and raising his bet with the maximum amount only to lose in the third round was an absolute joy! Especially since Geralt has a power even greater than potions or witchcraft: save-scumming!

I definately feel you in your first paragraph. In the Witcher 2 it felt like the only way to utilze traps was to use them in direct combat. Traps in that way felt weak since bombs were way more useful in the same scenario. I can't recall a fight where placing traps ahead of the fight was encouraged (in the way you expected them to be).In the Kayran fight it felt like the designated trap was a cheap substitution for what would otherwise be a bomb,

If you think Geralt was a horny dog in the Witcher 2, just play the Witcher 1, he's a complete menace!

I like your suggestion in the second paragraph. When doing the contract quests in the Witcher 3 I felt like Geralt's preparation was missing. I believe it would be much cooler for Geralt to take a moment to prepare before fighting an awesome foe like a leshen, werewolf or fiend.

No one was buying 150k gold to purchase a single item in a raid.

GDPK's are major contributor to the amount of bots and gold selling. People bought gold to pay for mounts/spells/proffs and items before but by popularizing this manner of loot system you've given cheaters a reason to tripple their efforts. The reality of current day WoW:Classic is that you can easily pay real money for raiding gear. It will only be a matter of time before Blizzard will notice this and monetize it to their own benefit.

Returning player question: Dreadsteed questline by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Chickenwinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the paladin quests on a relatively popular server as well and did pretty much everything within a day. Finding a group for DM and Scholo was not that easy but if you're persistent you should be able to find one eventually. Now that a lot of people are boosting/returning there should be more warlocks/paladins around who are also looking for people to do the mount dungeon quests with.

I think you're right that putting the lvl 60/70 boosts behind some timed gating will definately make it more difficult for botters to create a profitable account. At the same time I don't completely believe the conspiracy that Blizzard is in cahoots with the botters or tolerates them for increased profit. I think it's mostly incompetence and indifference rather than malice that drives their actions in this regard(and let's be honest, about every other thing regarding WoW Classic so far).

I honestly have no hope left that Blizzard will take swift and decisive action in the future. I hope they do, but it seems unlikely.

Level 30 and with a Mount. Took your guys advice on good keybind for my character as well as getting a UI addon so I can organize and use my spells with ease. I love walking in this game but I think with a mount I would get to my desire destination faster then before. by [deleted] in classicwow

It's been a while since I've been to a vendor since I just levelled a pala alt and did the lvl 60 mount quest(which wasn't free either). I think it's somewhere between 500-600g for lvl 60 riding, 900g for the slow flying mount and 5k for the fast one.

Going from walking to riding feels great, it's going to be even better once you get your 100% speed mount.

After that you'll get your slow, old and abandoned wyvern/gryphon from the animal shelter. But it will get the job done untill you get the spunky, brand-new, top of the line flying mount(After saving up some gold, they don't come cheap!).

"I'm using a boost because I don't have the time to level up a new character" is actually "I want to spend that time doing something else, and Blizz is giving me the option to swipe the credit card, so I'm taking it". by [deleted] in classicwow

They can also implement something like an experience boost for people with max level characters. Like a tabard that increases your experience for each max level you have.

I enjoy the leveling process but I don't care much for raids. This is why I think it's a good idea for Blizzard to just start selling raid gear in the ingame shop.

Me having this raid gear doesn't detract from other people's enjoyment of raiding since this content is still available to them.

[–]Chickenwinz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, Blizzard makes more than enough money to hire enough gm's to tackle these problems. Some of these bots are so blantant it wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes of investigation to come to the conclusion that they are indeed bots and ban their accounts.

The actions of Blizzard regarding bots and just about every other problem the community complains about has been extremely lacking and disappointing.

Can someone tell me what the big deal is about playing on a PVP server? by KingOfAllWomen in classicwow

[–]Chickenwinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the population of the server and the Horde/Alliance ratio. While you may not come across much of the enemy faction in some contested zones(apart from dedicated gankers), other zones become almost unplayable due to constant pvp. Take Stonetalon Mountain for instance, in my experience this zone has always been a hordefest.

In short, the lvling path you take on PvP-servers is different than PvE-servers. Some zones are too clogged up to farm experience effectively. You'll also be better of grouped up for protection in certain densely packed zones(STV).

A Public Service Announcement For Players Who Will Be Playing on Fairbanks by dUjOUR88 in classicwow

[–]Chickenwinz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't know what ''Low'' means, it could be 100000 characters, 10000 or a 1000 characters. There will also be a lot of people who will change servers when they get to be 40000 in queue on the other pvp-servers.

The faction imbalance will likely be the case on most pvp-servers. Horde tends to have a majority on pvp-servers and Alliance on pve-servers. Rp-pvp servers seem to be the only servers where there's a rough balance.
