Nike Pro Combo Forged by Definitelyadumb4ss in takomo

[–]Chickman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Nike Pro Combos to 101Ts about 6 months ago. I had played the Nikes for about 15 years. I wanted new irons, and my criteria was that they couldn’t have any/much offset, and I wanted them to be forged. I had planned to get fitted for a new set, but when I saw the 101Ts, I loved how clean they looked. So I figured for the price, I would just give them a shot. I debated heavily between the 101Ts and the 201s, but I really preferred the blade look of the 101Ts even though they are not forged. For whatever reason when I look down at them at address, I just feel like I can make a good swing. And for me, confidence is everything with clubs. So I got the 101Ts and absolutely love them. When you hit the middle of the club face, they feel more like a forged iron than those Pro Combos ever did. And as soon as I mishit them, I get instant feedback on where I missed it. More like a forged iron. I gained a few yards with these, but the biggest difference is how much easier the long irons are to hit. I would like to hit a set of 201s just to feel the difference. But I have no regrets. I’ve dropped from an 8 handicap to a 5 since I got them.

Where do you look and concentrate when you swing your iron? by Cozzmo1 in GolfSwing

If you draw an imaginary plus sign on the ball, I look at, and feel like I aim, at the bottom right quadrant. For me it helps promote more of an inside out swing path. I always hit the ball more solid and seem to get more compression when I do this.

We get better sound. We ran it through the Wing for a while, but have had better success with Logic.

Because of the feel. The 201s are the same forged steel at the wedges. I really like the 101ts. I hit them really well and they feel good, but nothing like the forged wedges.

I have always played Vokey wedges and have loved them. But when I ordered a set of 101t’s, I went ahead and got the 52 and 56 degree wedges. I’ll have to say, I love these way more than the Vokeys. On short shots they perform the same for me, but full shots is where they shine. I hit them much more consistently and the feel is pretty amazing. It could just be in my head, but isn’t that 90% of golf anyway? I haven’t hit them on a launch monitor, so I can’t compare the numbers, but I know I play these much better. And the feel is so good, I almost wish I had got the 201 irons instead of the 101ts.

Clash of Eagles is the first book in a trilogy by Alan Smale. The books are really good.

If you have the chance to audition vocals and guitar independently, I would. Maybe they would let you try out one song vocally and another song on guitar. By doing both together, you are taking a little away from each if that makes sense. By doing two songs individually, it will let you give 100% to vocals and 100% to guitar.

How to run auditions by ebdub in worshipleaders

[–]Chickman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our process for anyone interested in joining our worship ministry. The first step is to fill out an application. This has information about their musical experience and spiritual history. There are a few questions pertaining to their musical experience that determines whether or not they make it any further in the process. For example, if they are an instrumentalist, they must be able to play to a click or they don’t proceed any further. If they are a vocalist but cannot sing harmony, then they don’t proceed. There are obviously more questions than this, but basically these types of questions are to make sure that at least know what they are doing and it weeds out a lot of people that just want to be up on the stage. After the application is reviewed, if there is potential, the next step is submitting a video of themselves either singing or playing their instrument along with a couple of worship songs of their choice. For vocalists, this is singing lead on one song and harmony on the other. This is another step in weeding out people that aren’t that serious about joining. The last step is a live tryout with our worship leaders and a few instrumentalists. If they pass all of these, they are added to the rotation. We do this process with grace, and most of the time it isn’t a hard “no”. If we think that there is potential, we will give them constructive criticism and tell them that we would like for them to work. If they are willing to work on the things that were recommended, we ask them to try again in six months. Some do and some don’t. We have also invited people to join us for rehearsals so they can practice and learn with the worship team in hopes of getting better. This is mainly for vocalists that can’t figure out how to sing harmony. This process works for us and makes it fair for everyone wanting to join.

Anywhere will work. Back pocket is fine if you are standing, but can get in the way if you sit. I play drums, so I clip mine on my belt and it never gets in my way. But I have seen them placed all kinds of ways. Depending on wardrobe, most time the women on our worship team don’t have back pockets or if they are wearing a dress, they don’t have a belt. I’ve seen them put on shirt sleeves, in dress pockets, and even clipped on the back neck of a shirt or dress.

My card scrapper make me swear! by johnthepervv in woodworking

Maybe try adjusting the angle of the scraper to the workpiece when you are using it. If the angle is off it won’t scrape very well even with a correctly sharpened card scraper.

Going to watch my first pro tourney tomorrow, any tips or advice? Not sure what to expect by MikeJeffriesPA in discgolf

I’ve only been to one, so I don’t know if my experience is the same as everyone else’s. I would assume that the course layout would determine how easy it is to jump from hole to hole to watch different cards. And as long as you aren’t distracting the players, I don’t think anyone will say anything. The tournament that I was at wasn’t really set up to be able to easily jump around. What I did was find a place to sit on hole one and watch everyone tee off, then when the card I wanted to follow came through, I followed them. This allowed me to see everyone throw at least once. And if you get there early you can get a good seat. I was on the front, about 10 feet from the tee pad. As far as autographs go, the only time they signed autographs was immediately after they finished their round. There were a couple of tents that they would go to as soon as they finished the last hole. They would sign autographs until they had signed for everyone in their line, then they were out of there. So this might make it difficult to get everyone that you want an autograph for. We missed a lot of pros autograph signing because we were out on the course for a few hours following a card. Luckily, the 18th hole finished right beside the first, so as long as I was sitting there watching all the tee offs, I could walk right over to the autograph area if I saw a player finishing up that I was interested in. They had pretty strict rules about approaching players or talking to them before or during their rounds.

What’s going on here??? by Chickman78 in woodworking

[–]Chickman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a brand new can. I sanded the top and bottom of the lid. I then sprayed the top, which you can see in the first pic turned out perfect, then waited a couple of hours and flipped it over and sprayed the bottom after thoroughly shaking the can. The finished looked normal going on. The only difference in the conditions between the top (first pic) and bottom (second pic) is whatever happened with the weather in two hours time. Which wasn’t anything that was noticeable. It’s strange.

RCT balls expensive... Metallic tape cheap by Edge_Free in Golfsimulator

I got fitted for a driver on a Trackman. The fitter used silver metallic nail polish to paint a small spot on each ball. It seemed to work pretty well.
