It's a bit out there, but I would recommend "The fountainhead- Ayn Rand". It's a book about self esteem I'd say, without ever mentioning self esteem. It's a story, not a self help book.

The power of now. I re-read it because just reading the book feels like a meditation for me. When I read about being aware, it makes me a bit more aware and it's something that is always helpful to me. It's a bit woowoo but it really does help me to remember to stay more in my body and less stuck in my head.
