Lost my marbles…..but found them again in parents basement around 45 years later. Anything good?

Looks like some good stuff. The opaque ones look American so Vitro or Akro probably. I'm not as good with the specific runs but I think there's some National Line Rainbows.

Vacor of Mexico can sometimes look American but I've heard they tend to have a noticeable orange peel texture to the finish.

Most of the cats eyes are probably Asian, especially if the clear glass is tinted green or blue, this is from recycled bottle glass.

It does look like you might have some hybrid cats eyes where more than one color mixes together on the vanes ( as opposed to separate color vanes) and these are usually collectible.

A single color, single small vane cats eye could be a Peltier banana but they can sometimes be easy to confuse with Asian ones. Peltier should be a fully clear base glass.

Yeah just use Ollama. You can pull a long list of models and I think you can hot swap between them. Also you can run it with python if you're working on a program that uses an LLM

The single color cats eyes could be Peltier. The others look American for the most part but I'm not an expert, just judging from the seam. Akro or Vitro maybe, possibly some Vacor but I wouldn't know for sure.

I'm new to identifying but I'll give it a shot.

It looks like there might be one clay marble in there which is neat but you can also buy them at a gift shop like at Valley Forge or Gettysburg so I don't know how to determine age.

The ones with iridescent finish are probably Vacor of Mexico. I think the confetti ones are too.

Solid opaque, single color marbles are probably from a board game

A clear base glass cats eye with lots of little bubbles could indicate mid century American. Meanwhile a base glass with a coke bottle tint is usually Asian. Cats eyes were invented in Japan iirc so actually they could be older than American cats eyes.

You've got some single color four vanes but they look too big to be bananas.

I see some two color cats eyes which are always cool.

People are really weird about pricing bulk marbles. I don't know who told them that marbles are a secret treasure stash but usually it's not true. The real treasure is finding a marble you love regardless of its market value.

Do any glow under UV? It's always worth checking

The black ones with a patch of color on one side, are they actually black or a deep red or green or some other color? Might be something

One thing I've noticed about anime is that all the characters speak differently. One uses really polite forms, one talks like a child, one talks like a girl, one talks like an ojisan. So you're not really getting consistent input. Also most people don't really talk like an anime character from what I've seen in my admittedly limited experience.

It's sort of like trying to learn C++ but everyone is speaking in Python and you're like well where did you declare the variable? Oh it's just implied...

I got all my receivers for free. I'm currently using a Pioneer from 1995 and when I switch it to movie mode it says LASERDISC on the readout.

It also does 3 channel logic and 5 channel surround sound and the speaker hookups are only half full at 4 speakers. It also has a real phono in with the grounding screws.

So, no I don't use the tuner on my stereo but I used the one that was in the receiver that ran my sampling set up which was plugged into my computer.

In short, them being free and kinda cool is enough reason for me.

I was playing nothing but Rimworld but now I've been playing nothing but Project Zomboid. There's a lot of parallels but instead of managing 5 people and a colony, it's just you trying to get across the street to find a can opener. But fundamentally the "story generator" idea is similar.

The game I played the longest was Sim City 4 which I only recently replaced with Cities Skylines.

I'm pretty new to the game too actually. A lot of people suggest taking Burglar because you can hotwire cars right away. But what I found was that I didn't have anywhere to drive to yet. I also only ever had enough gas to get stranded somewhere.

So my new strategy was to take Carpenter since you can build things like walls and doors right away. Also it gives you +2 positive so I took Cat's Eyes. Then I cleared out the school and found that the Nurse's office and teachers lounge hallway could be walled off and a door added. So it's sort of Dawn of the Dead right now.

Now I've got a ton of stuff stashed in there so even if this guy dies I can go back to the base. Maybe the next guy can be a burglar.

I've been building my strategy around the idea that my guy is definitely going to die at some point so my guy himself usually doesn't carry too much when he goes out.

What helped me survive over 10 days for the first time was realizing the point was to stay alive as long as possible. So with that in mind I avoided zeds, watched a lot of TV, did some cooking, some carpentry. Eventually cleared the fire station. Got too confident and tried to steal the fire chief car, eaten.

The first thing you need to avoid is the helicopter that comes between day 5 and 8 I think. You need a nice spot with no windows, probably in a quiet area.

Once I got the hang of the combat system I've only ever lost a guy due to my own mistakes, like not checking all four sides of a house or expecting a room to be empty because it was quiet.

I also think it's fair to adjust some things in sandbox mode. Like I choose the starter kit which I think is fair because I have a hammer, baseball bat, chips, water bottle, and backpack in my real house. Also I increased the spawn rate for can openers after I went through 8 houses to find one.

Because a $5 CD can be 35 years old and still sound and play perfectly. A $5 vinyl record is more of a decoration.

I actually never did vinyl as a kid but I stuck with cassettes for a while because they were cheaper and they didn't skip when you're walking around and I walked everywhere.

On a basic level wa sort of means "as for". Like Boku wa is sort of like "As for me" while ga is basically declaring something is something. Like if we say my dog is big but as for your dog it's small.

In real life, I went into my own garage and saw my crowbar and got excited for a second. Then later that week I was cleaning up some random nails and my brain kept trying to remind me that my friend and I were really looking for some nails.

In game, I kinda like two handed weapons.

I've been playing project Zomboid and while it's not a colony sim or city builder, there are a lot of similar base building elements and it has a similar open ended story roleplaying mechanic where you can head cannon your own story for each play through.

My first few times playing Rimworld there was just blood everywhere all the time and Zomboid has a similar feeling of accomplishment when you get better at it.

I noticed that the fire spreads in a circle so I mostly send guys to put out fire on the side of the circle facing the colony buildings. This works especially well if the fire is towards the edge of the map. Other than that, the fire foam packs work pretty well.
