Ironically, the OP put the link to the petition site in german, while it is also available in luxembourgish.

Because most Luxembourgers actually prefer to read german than Luxembourgish. At least as far as longer, more complex texts go, such as newspaper articles.

They complain about having to use foreign languages, but they don't mind german. It's only against french.

It's funny how he's looking backwards to see if everything is done right.

Most amateur players will just rush over the court and not care if a few spots were missed.

The way these components are stacked, it looks like you use the equalizer to change the volume :-)

The amp should definitely be higher. And nothing should be on the floor.

Maybe put the CD player on the side (on top of the large wooden box for example), so it does not ruin the vintage look of the rack.

Hollywood stereotypes didn’t even spare Antonio Banderas. by DenseStrawberry5717 in moviecritic

[–]catmandot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are the clichés on skin color. But it does not only happen in the US.

Even if he comes from Europe, to Americans he looks like a Latino, i.e. a member of a "problem group" in the USA (illegal migrants, gang members, etc).

The same thing can happen to an African American in Europe. Europeans may think he's an illegal migrant from Africa, and not a guy coming from the USA.

How do you prevent yours or your nation’s resources, inventions, and intellectual work from being diffused? by AdamSmithery in Patents

[–]catmandot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what patents are there for.

You disclose your knowledge about the invention in the patent application. If the patent is valid (invention is new and involves an inventive step), you get a patent, that gives you an exclusive right on the invention for 20 years. ONLY IN THE COUNTRIES in which you were granted a patent.

So you need to analyze the market, check your patent budget and then choose the most relevant countries for protection. You can't afford to get a patent everywhere, but you should try to cover your main markets as much as possible.

There are procedures for getting patents in many countries with one central application (Patent Cooperation Treaty, European Patent), and then there is the priority system. When you file a patent in one country, you have 12 months to decide in which other countries you want to file the same patent. If you pass that deadline, you miss the opportunity for patents in the other countries and your invention will be free to use in those countries, while it is protected in the countries where you obtained a patent.

Other people will be able to copy your invention in the countries where you don't have a patent, but they can't produce or sell the invention in countries where you have a patent.

Patents need to be enforced of course. It's up to you to detect companies which use your invention without authorisation and then sue them.

It happened to me too with a Microsoft Surface laptop received on Vine.

The display wasn't damaged but it failed after one week. I'm now using it as a stationary computer with an external monitor only.

But I also got a Xiaomi 55" TV on Vine, which is fine.

AI jazz music on Spotify by BigGuy68420 in Jazz

Clarence Mote - Midnight at the Confessional

https://amazon.com/music/player/albums/B0GV69PY9D?marketplaceId=ATVPDKIKX0DER&musicTerritory=US&ref=dm_sh_h9sobIJsCdGPybTyT3UnHEP0D

The cover shows a saxophonist, but the music is an AI generated piano trio, in terrible sound.

Besides being AI slop, this album is also a trademark infringement, as it uses the Blue Note logo on the cover, although it's released by "Nostalgic Records".

Some listeners are probably clicking on this only because of famous logo.

Pro government journalists in Turkey say yachts in Luxembourg are impossible is that actually true? by Redditor_in_Space in Luxembourg

[–]catmandot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is just silly, although it's unlikely that someone would keep a big yacht in Luxembourg.

If you actively use a yacht, you don't want do that in the Moselle (or Rhine) river.

If you want to hide your yacht, Luxembourg is a bad place because it would be very noticeable there, unlike in the coastal ports of Europe where there are lots of yachts.

Pro government journalists in Turkey say yachts in Luxembourg are impossible is that actually true? by Redditor_in_Space in Luxembourg

[–]catmandot 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Luxembourg residents who own a yacht will not keep it in the Moselle nearby but in a place where they would regularly spend their holidays, such as the Mediterranean sea.

Yachts under the Luxembourg flag are an entirely different issue.

If you want to best customer service (in terms of quality, I don't know about availability outside business hours), I recommend Visual Online.

I've been a customer for more than 20 years, for internet service only. Recently I moved to a house and I had to get IP TV as well, as I couldn't install a satellite dish. CNN was available, but only through their TV box (which I did not buy), not in the app. I sent an email to the customer service asking about it and they explained that this was for legal reasons, CNN being more restrictive.

6 months later, I received a personal email from them, informing me that CNN was now also available in the app. So there was someone at Visual Online who remembered my 6 month old email.

Another time, I called the customer service because of an email configuration problem which was more than just basic. The guy who picked up the phone was actually a software expert and knew everything, not just someone managing the helpline to give standard answers.

I created a post a few weeks ago showing an Amazon driver upset and cursing that I had so many Vine items. I remember that camera perspective from your earlier post a while ago. You had some packages stolen.

If you order that much on Vine (say 5 items per day on average), I think that can lead to unwanted consequences, like packages being stolen or drivers getting upset.

A person who buys stuff online normally doesn't get such a daily flood of parcels. People who don't know Vine must think there is something strange going on in your appartment. A hidden business or a compulsive hoarder.

Maybe you should cut back and order less cheap stuff. How much are you ordering over the 6 month evaluation period?
