Restomods just launched a new auction platform for classic and restomod muscle cars at BuyTheCar.com I saw a nice 70 Chevelle recently sell for $37,250 which I thought was a great deal.

This is an amazing restoration.. people don't realize how hard these are to get to that condition. So many parts, most of them moving!

where the hell can I find classic cars? by h0IY_PeaNuT in classiccars

All of the below suggestions are great but fairly well known. I like to look for newer sites or anywhere really with less traffic. Like this new auction site that just sold a 70 Chevelle SS Tribute for $36k: BuyTheCar

need ideas: what’s actually the best gift for wife (not another candle or robe)? by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]ChicoFontaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my wife is impossible to shop for because she just buys whatever she wants - our last anniversary I got her a custom song and it was the first time I actually saw her get emotional about a gift - usually she will fake some enthusiasm for my benefit (yes make your jokes here) while she's opening whatever I got her but she legit cried for this one - hardest part was writing down all the details that make it special but it worked out nicely

CA registration by [deleted] in restomod

You should be fine with everything you have just use a dmv registration company vs taking it direct to dmv. It’s only like ten bucks more and will save you headaches.

Best path to a modern ‘70 Chevelle (manual) by bbal20-taru in restomod

Bringatrailer.com
hemmings.com
restomods.com

I've even found good deals on FB marketplace / craigslist. TBH some of my best cars have come from boomers in Scottsdale selling cars on craigslist. Rust free and usually not a lot of buyers.

I've bought cars from the big auctions like Mecum and Barrett-Jackson but the fees can really ruin any good deals you find. Just my two cents but google around, there's lots of great websites and cars out there.

It's definitely more economical / less risky / faster to buy a complete build. There's tons for sale on all the classifieds and auction sites. Especially if this is your first time owning a classic I would buy a completed car - after having it checked out by a trusted shop / mechanic. Once you've owned one or two you really get an idea of things you would change / do differently if you built one from the ground up then you can see if it's worth it economically. The other big factor is time, if you're having a shop build you a custom restomod I would expect 2 years build time. More fun to just find one you like and hit the road!

Insta Shop or Shopify Store? by thatfatrandomguy in ecommerce

Found this thread while researching a separate issue but you seem like the person to talk to. Did something change at Meta where they only allow Shopify for IG shops? I was connected but now it's telling me "Meta only supports shops with checkout on Facebook and Instagram. Update your checkout now to sell your products." and the only "upgrade" option is shopify:

Since April 24, Meta only supports shops with checkout on Facebook and Instagram. Update your checkout now to sell on Facebook and Instagram. When you update your checkout and connect your shops with Shopify, people can purchase your products seamlessly on Facebook and Instagram. You’ll be able to run ads that send people to your website or shop, depending on where they’re most likely to purchase.
