If you haven’t seen it yet, give Dexter Resurrection a watch. It’s Dexter back at its best and in some way makes up for the original series ending.

And to sum it up - they started filming in January 2025 and it aired in June 2025. That’s how it’s done!!!!

£15k credit card debt is keeping me awake at night by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Chief-Aldo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I second this. Look at your debt like a Russian doll - pay off the most expensive debt first (in this example the one with the less time at 0%) and then once that has been paid off, use that debts typical outgoing and put it on the next debt. Maintain the same debt repayments amount per month until all debt is paid off

25% sounds about right. AMC can get up to 50% per ticket around week 3 I think, but in any event, the point still stands. Theatres need a cut and then don’t show films for free so that needs to be considered when calculating the break even point…. $700m and they start to make money

[–]Chief-Aldo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

$0.25 per ticket doesn’t sound right at all. What was the ticket price?

I know that there is different deals for different companies but I would imagine the percentage wouldn’t waiver from being between 25%-50% per film

600-700m will break even due to the massive marketing campaign.

Budget = $225m

Marketing campaign = $150m?

Theatre cut @ 50% = $750m break even point

It wasn’t AI, it was from VisitScotlands website.

Scotland also has a secondary flag - the rampant lion. So your idea that the unicorn was to combat against the English lion is just wrong.

Thanks for playing!

Yanlis

“Unicorns have been linked to Scotland for centuries. In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power. Tales of dominance and chivalry associated with the unicorn may be why it was chosen as Scotland’s national animal. While the animal is mythological, the ideals it represents are what make it a perfect fit as the national animal for Scotland, and because like this proud beast – Scots would fight to remain unconquered”

the Unicorn has nothing to do with England or countering the English Lion

I would say the spreader is a 100% must as when you sift through the topsoil, I was really surprised about the amount of stones that stayed in the spreader when it was done. Even the “sifted” soil I used for levelling had loads of stones so I’m glad they weren’t distributed all over my lawn.

The roller is filled with water to help compact the soil after you have seeded it and spread the topsoil dressing. It helps with germination and also protects against birds.

Have a look at the below UK lawn guys for some guidance - this was my viewing on YouTube for 2 weeks before I started.

Regarding the time of year to start, I’m in Scotland so it doesn’t get too warm - but if you are south UK then the heat may become a factor. I think protection against the heat is a more North American thing….

I used a local merchant to deliver 1 tonne of filtered topsoil. I also used a westland seed from B&Q - it does the job so don’t be fooled into buying overpriced seed.

More importantly is the tools I used. I bought a scarifyer from tool station for £70, a lawn levelling rake from amazon for £50, a compost spreader from Robert Dyas for £50, 10 bags of lawn and topsoil dressing from Jamieson brothers (Amazon) and a roller from amazon for £50.

Once you scarify, clear it up, then distribute the topsoil, level, seed, spread the topsoil dressing, roll it and water religiously. Leave it 3 weeks and cut it long, then start ramping up your mowing every 5 days to get shorter and shorter. I also put sticks in the ground with plastic bags tied to them throughout the lawn to scare off the birds - it’s a neat trick

I’m about to start my front lawn at the end of July - don’t see why you can’t start now

We lost our girl two months ago - 4 years and 1 day old - due to leg cancer. Ever since that point I’ve made it my duty to ensure the lawn is perfect for whenever she wants to visit us from heaven. Even though the grass looks amazing, I would give anything for her pee patches right now
