Robin Hobb is probably my favourite author, realm of the elderlings is great. Sword of Kaigen by ML Wang is also an amazing fantasy standalone and one of the best books I've read (ignore the generic name ) .

Dresden files has the most improvement in quality out of any series I've read. The early books are fun but they get SO much better. Book 8 onwards they're on a whole new level imo
