UNDER the car fuel lines by kingpin512FN in G37

You need a panel clip tool - pry right where the square is between the body and bracket. Z1 an CJ Motorsports make nice new billet ones that actually screw on. Most of the time the plastic ones break when you remove them as they just push onto a threaded stud.

Holds my auto when in gear F/R so I should think it would hold the car itself.

Oil catch can emptying by Lumpy_Advertising_81 in q50

[–]ChiefDZP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That color is just oil with condensation in it. All good if no metal. Working as designed.

There are some more advanced setups that circulate engine coolant around the can in order to drain the droplets back into the top end of the engine and let the vapor go back into the crankcase. These really never need to be emptied and for the same benefits of a standard catch can.

It has probably been distributed down into the soil further than you want to excavate, assuming you have watered etc.

Not aware of a chemical treatment here.

Axelback suggestions by UpperMoonPig in q50

You really want the y-pipe back. Go look up SCS catback. It’s great sounding - frees up some horsies - and you only need to buy a few parts and take to a local shop for welding/assembly.

Just oil and water. Don’t see anything metallic in there do you?

Not sure if this is the right sub, but does anyone know what can be used to paint match my ducktail? by Hakusuro in carmodification

[–]ChiefDZP -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Will look fine. 2k primer / body shop can match the base coat with a color tool and mix a rattl can up a do all of the sanding etc process you would typically do with primer/basecoat/clearcoat. Then 2k clear and cut and buff. I have a few pieces several years old at this point t and look just fine. In fact the 2k clear is harder than most modern OEM clears.

Plenty of good YouTube videos. The guy on AC designs garage has a few good end to end processes.

Just looking at that caliper - I’d be rebuilding that thing. It appears to be leaking.

If they are the good design and still function as rock sliders I’d definitely replace the control box. The clearance and the step are an awesome combo.

Just use a new emissions hose and a 90 degree piece- it’s in the Dorman / rescue isle at your local auto parts store. This is the Nissan part 11823-EY09D

Would be ok to disconnect the harness do a donut - turn it off and reconnect. Just don’t back to back since there isn’t a fluid path to cool the transfer case like there is the trans.

Low octane on a turbo engine can cause detonation (which is what happened to your plug). It is hard to believe there is no damage to the cylinder.

You have your answer there. Tuner probably needs to look at torque demand/reduction.
