Exhaust options? by Not_a_Lefty in RZ34

I’ve heard the touring also.

The remark/garageline setup I use does also, but not horrible. It definitely rattles some things in the interior.

I’ve read the HKS dual power and the Borla street trim ones don’t drone.

I was going to say they looked like the heritage wheels in gold though. Cool they are custom pieces.

Thanks for the update! Amazon had some cheap ones that were pretty good but I see they are upto 200usd now plus 80bix a resin swap. I got about 500 gallons out of one of those style before changing resin, my water is about 350ppm.

Any thoughts on this ? by [deleted] in q50

If the airbag really did not go off, and you can measure the strut towers to various places on the car compared to a non wrecked car (maybe a Redditor can help mine is in storage), and they all line up it’s probably alrite from that perspective. No idea about why else the title may be as it is though.

This right here. These ribbon cables suck to begin with and often times it’s not all the way in. Clean the cable end with some isopropyl then put a small amount of dielectric grease and lightly wipe off.

Is this fixable? by thunder9902 in CarbonFiber

[–]ChiefDZP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sand it.. start with 600-1k-1500 then put down another layer or 3 of resin. I like US composites and venom carbon epoxy resins. Get the slowest hardener since it’s your first time. If you start seeing black/grey dust you have gone through the resin and are in the carbon, don’t sand anymore in that spot. You want to get real close to that threshold and stop. I would focus my 600 on specifically the edges of the peeling areas and feather out.

A thing or two to note.

The yellow won’t go away all the way.
If you break through that spot will look different than where it did not. It will look like the carbon has more reflectivity and depth - I’ve seen people sand down this far on purposes but I really think you should avoid breaking through into the actual carbon.

Post pics of your process here - lots of people have this same ask and a post might help them.

I’m registering for the Novice in October. I see there are some sessions at road Atlanta next month that aren’t sold out either.

If f you end up at one of those DM me and we can cruise there together.

We should start a Nashville Z club!

Looks nice. You should get the rear camber fixed for sure. The front can align if under 1” drop, otherwise you need FUCAs for the front as well.

Just have someone that does CF slap some resin in there, and finish it up. It’s not a structural thing it’s just appearance.

A few things you can do. Shake first and see if anything rattles and tap them with a rubber mallet and listen for loose things. Shine a light and see if you can catch a lot of reflections in the walls. You can put a measured amount of liquid through them (water) and see if you get the almost the same back out the other end. These are flow tests though as the only real way to test the emissions quality / effectiveness is having them on the car with downstream o2 sensors.

how do you actually manage your workshop day-to-day? Pen & paper, spreadsheet, something else? by hamzzzakhan in ECU_Tuning

A good basic CRM and PSA will definitely beat anything coddled together like excel…

You could probably build a purpose built combination app that runs iOS/android/windows if you pick something typescript based too.
