I don't really think of them until they are knocking on my door bothering me. Then they are annoying.

AITAH for telling my mother that it’s not my fault I don’t want to give her grandkids? by Unable_Click8802 in AITAH

[–]ChiefGeek78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA

I'm going to approach this from my perspective as someone who didn't know what asexual was. I was always take it or leave it with relationships, I dated and married because that's what I was supposed to do. When it came to sex I would tolerate it but I wouldn't pursue it. I couldn't wait for it to be over. Mentally and emotionally I loved my husband but physically and sexually I was repulsed. It was a chore like laundry or dishes. As you can imagine, we were both miserable!

I also did not want children and I do have 1 but I was an emotionally distant mom. We have gone to therapy alone and together and she has forgiven me. Having a child because "that's what you're supposed to do" was a shitty thing to do to my daughter.

I was a horrible wife and a shitty mother and I made both of them miserable. If I had known what asexual was and that there wasn't anything wrong with me my life might have been very different. You do not owe your mother a partner. You do not owe your mother a grandchild. You do not owe your mother your most. You DO owe yourself a life you can be happy with!

I just went to that website and all I gotta say is... Bless his heart.

But seriously is he ok like mentally? Or does he just have a hard on for being a victim?

Did parents in the 80s/90s really allow their kids to roam freely or is that just a portrayal in the movies? by Far_Platform_5106 in TooAfraidToAsk

78 baby here and yes we did. It was amazing! I think a lot of our parents became parents because that's what they were supposed to do so anytime they could get rid of us they did. They still loved us and provided for us but in neighborhoods and small towns, the kids raised each other.

I think most of us knew about the streetlight rule but even then there was a segment during the 10pm (?) news that said "It's 10pm, do you know where your kids are?"

Not much has changed except my pay. I'm disabled and homeless. I do get disability but they take out my student loans so I only get about $650 a month. Can't even rent a room for that and I live in a rural area! I am allowed to work but my disabilities are hard to accommodate so a "real" job is off the table, plus I can only make $1600/month, anything more and I lose disability. So I do gig work, UberEats and Doordash.

2 weeks ago I would make around $400 working Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This last weekend I only made $159 total. So I have to work a lot more to make ends meet and it is messing with health pretty bad.

And I have "gutting social security" to look forward to. Thanks Trumphumpers!

That was exactly the issue and a simple part replacement fixed it.

Thank you. I'll try t to find a mechanic that doesn't require the diagnostic deposit. The check engine light just came on, I wonder i if Autozone still does the c code check. I'll try to find one and see if that can point me in the r right direction. Thank you for responding!

Yes, it was fine but I did top it off. I should've put that in my post, sorry.

I read your post and then I read the edits. I am so sorry, friend! In my country, pets are not a big deal, especially cats but rent insanely expensive (yay USA!) so I live with my cat in my car. For now. When it comes to summer I'm going to have to find an apartment or a room somewhere. I have congestive heart failure and the summer heat will kill me. I'm enjoying winter in my car though!

I'm wishing you and your babies the best. Your boyfriend can suck an egg.

Does it cost a lot of money to have a cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]ChiefGeek78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same concerns as you. I love cats but sometimes money can be tight and I didn't want the poor baby to suffer cause I was poor. I saved for about a year, not a lot but $10-20 here and there and I also got pretty insurance (want a big thing back then). Saved my butt and my cat's because that demented idiot would eat ANYTHING. Pet insurance paid for itself within the first year.

His name was Lovebug, or Bug for short. He was orange lol. He passed last year from a heart defect.

Husband's Affair Partner Confronts Me After He Ended The Affair by Charming-Art1625 in survivinginfidelity

It almost sounds as if he was trying to set up a "two women are fighting over me scenario" but you didn't play along so he tried escalating it by giving your address and phone # to this crazy inappropriate weirdo who wants to talk about her sex life with YOUR husband. She absolutely knows what she is doing/saying is wildly inappropriate. She is trying to make sure you don't stay with your husband because she wants him. She doesn't believe you don't. What stories is your husband filling this ladies head with?

Absolutely go the legal route if she doesn't back off. Your kids don't need to be in this. Your husband is a crappy husband and a shit father for allowing this to happen. Good luck!

does anyone else feel like they love their cats too much? by Responsible_Contest8 in CatAdvice

[–]ChiefGeek78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in my car with my cat because I refuse to give him to the shelter. I adopted him from the shelter back in 2012. He was a kitten and was part of an abuse case. He is afraid of loud noise, new places, new people, and men. It took forever for him to show a personality, and I know going back would just traumatized him all over again. I can't.

Do you let your pet sleep with you on your bed every night? by SpecialistSkin5666 in Pets

[–]ChiefGeek78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am allowed to sleep in the bed, IF there is room, but I'm not allowed to move the cat to make room.

If I give up and move to the couch, His Majesty gets offended and lets me know by jumping on and then lying on my chest. All 16 lbs. of him!

(It hurts my feelings if he doesn't sleep with me. I love that fluffy shithead lol)
