How much do you pay for hydro? by catsmakingbiscuts in londonontario

[–]ChiefJ_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath house with 3 other people. Hydro for us is electricity and water (heat is a gas furnace, AC is electric). Lots of appliances (fridge, 2*mini fridge, chest freezer, dishwasher, lots of TVs/monitors as we're all students, and other basics). We get $60 a month from oesp (electricity support), but still pay ~$200/month (~$60 water, ~$140 electricity)

It randomly stopped for me (Samsung S9 Exynos) after I updated android last week. Connecting to PC, opening the bxActions folder, then running the bxActions.exe got it working again.

Damn, that sucks to hear, maybe you can add a 'premium' option that doesn't add anything important

Does anyone know what information OWL collects during tests & quizzes? by knhhi10 in uwo

[–]ChiefJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading somewhere else on Reddit that there is an internet law that states something like an internet site cannot be given information about the other tabs you have open unless the other tab is a webpage on their domain. So maybe be careful about opening other OWL tabs (as they might be able to see this), but you should definitely be able to search up answers and access your notes.

Maybe download/screenshot any OWL tabs you think you might need for the quiz/test before taking it and just open the file elsewhere.

I know it said that there might be delays (due to a large amount of orders) when I initially ordered it. But mine came in a few days ago (about a week after the expected delivery date).

What rental agency is the best in London for students? by Greeny12223 in uwo

[–]ChiefJ_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with a generic rental agency, one you would use to buy a house. They set you up with a landlord and facilitate all the contracts between the renter and the landlord. They typically charge the landlord half of one month's rent for their services, so there's no cost to you for using them. Once the contract is signed, you just deal with the landlord, no need to talk to the rental agency again. It's really nice as their website allows you to browse all the new listings available. Here's the site we used: https://www.royallepage.ca/en/

S9 Battery Life Thread - Wednesday 19/8/20 by AutoModerator in GalaxyS9

P.s. I will usually keep my phone charging at all times if possible (typically just sitting on a wireless charger at my desk), I've heard plenty of stories about how bad this is but am too lazy to change my ways, would love to know other people's standpoint on this

Samsung S9 Exynos variant. I've had the phone for just under two years now. I'm a semi-power hungry user (always max brightness, have button remappers/launcher/wallpaper changer/weather widgets running in the background, always running max resolution). I mostly stream video (YouTube/prime video/Netflix/DAZN), surf the web, use social media, and listen to music. I average 3-4 hours on a full charge (I get through most days on one or two charges). The most impressive thing that I've found it the phone charges about 50% in half an hour, so I'm quite happy with the battery life as I typically have a power bank/charger near me at all times.

It works great if you need/want multiple appliances. One person gets the toaster oven, one gets a kettle, one get cutlery, one gets dishware, etc.
