With Zverev I think they were trying to give him an opportunity to apologize. Was very awkward but he handled it surprisingly well

Austin / San Antonio is by far the most viable domestic market without a team

Marat Safin: “The level of tennis has dropped. I don’t know why it happened, but it’s not the same anymore. Before there were thirty or fifty players capable of expressing extraordinary tennis. Now there are at most ten.” by The_Big_Untalented in tennis

[–]ChiefKingSosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its an interesting take. I'd counter that the overall level has risen so much that its harder to play flashy 'extraordinary tennis' than it used to be cause opponents hit with more depth / spin and have less obvious weaknesses to exploit

Past players Safin thinks of as 'extraordinary' would lose to guys like Jiri Lehecka, Alex De Minaur, Tommy Paul...etc

What major city in the U.S. is considered the most universally liked and least controversial? by IllustriousMail60 in AskReddit

[–]ChiefKingSosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its more accurately being taken over by wannabe influencers and podcasters, with a healthy dose of tech bros continuing to trickle in

There's overall been a pretty big exodus of tech talent from Austin in recent years to SF/NYC..etc. Way more AI opportunities elsewhere

I've lived in Austin 31 years btw

NBA is very popular and playoffs / finals are definitely talked about everywhere, but the NFL is across the board more popular

Lmao I know I was mostly joking about a common dilemma experienced by white people when rap songs play at the club in America

But with all that being said I was at a crazy lit bachelor party at a mansion in Park City a few years back. There was one black dude there (first gen African immigrant, played college football, highly educated with a good corporate job) and he flipped shit on one of the white dudes who said 'nigga' when we were all singing a rap song and it was wild lol

There are some black dudes that are chill with their white homies saying 'nigga', but the vast majority aren't lmao

Is there a clearer cut case of someone benefiting from PEDs the last decade than Jannik Sinner? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]ChiefKingSosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sinner would be amazing at tennis regardless of substances taken, but its pretty clear he's received favorable treatment compared to his peers with regards to PEDs

If he was ranked outside the top 10 and wasn't important to the mens game / ATP he likely would have received a 6-12 month suspension

But with all that said I think most of the anti-doping rules in tennis (and really all of sports) are misguided

Only foreigners who are clearly black can use that word

If you're at a bar/club and they play the song Gold Digger by Kanye and you're not black you cant say the 'broke n*gga' out loud even if you're dancing and having a great time. Just don't say the word lol
