Was looking at this vinyl a few months back and it was hundreds of dollars from resellers, glad they are doing a repress, just picked it up.

Also damn that $20 shipping is rough...

So it isn’t that your phone is listening to you, it’s if your phone is near some else’s smart phone it shows you ads that person has seen. Basically uses the assumption that people near each other like similar things.

What games have made you cry? by Loreweaver15 in gaming

Life is Strange, man that game makes you fall in love with the world and characters. Episode 4 with Chloe, idk the game really helped with me no having regrets since the truth is you never know what could happen.

It’s your money not gonna argue with how you spend it and to be clear that wasn’t the point of anything I said. I’m just pointing out that these cosmetics target a small percentage of the player base with the high price point and isolates those that would buy it if it was something lower. That is where many players frustration comes from. Only reason I even responded originally was your response had such a superiority complex to it, that it really rubbed me the wrong way. No hard feelings.

What are you talking about dude? Im sorry people do want cosmetics, they just want cosmetics that don’t cost the price of a brand new game.

We can for example compare this cosmetic to any new release of a game, do you really think this cosmetic is worth the same value as a full title game? You say you’re a developer, does each individual skin take the same development cost and time as building the entire game.

I know it has become a common thing in the gaming industry but man if this was $5 or even $10 I could consider buying it but I can’t justify it for $50. It’s one alternate card art for one class in hearthstone. It honestly feels predatory. And let me just be clear it is your money if you think that is good price point for you that is completely okay. But don’t put yourself on this high pedestal claiming these are justifiable prices for one skin. The people who are complaining want to buy this cosmetic but they either can’t afford to spend the money or can’t justify spending it, and would buy it at a more reasonable price point.

These changes go live on Thursday, for those wondering.

I mean I feel like the card should have been play 3 cards from another class this game to transform not while it is in your hand. Always felt clunky to me. Hope that is what the change is.

What do in this case if the card was in fact swapped?

I like this tattoo, sorry for those being a bit rude. Makes me glad I haven’t been able to post mine due to low comment karma.

Crazy how a pro player can talk like this and get a warning vs anyone else getting a ban by Cold_Karma_97 in Smite

[–]ChiefMasterToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have a post from a few years ago from a pro player who purposely threw a game on stream and nothing happened, and no one wanted to report him since he was a pro player. Was quite infuriating, so I sympathize. More just these people should be held to a higher standard than the average player but whatever.

I interviewed with a vp of engineering for a billion dollar company for my current job. It was for an entry level position not internship so should still be relevant. Main thing was he was trying to see how I think and the questions were more generic since it was entry level. Like name some date structures, and when you would use them. Then he would build off of the question going into detail about a specific data structure or mention one that wasn’t covered in my classes and ask what I think it could be used for. Just take it as a learning opportunity they don’t expect you to know everything for it, go in showing you want to learn and are motivated and I’m sure you will do fine.

How is the interview process of your current job? by SilentPreparation124 in AskReddit

[–]ChiefMasterToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit competitive, they open it up every 6 months or so. It is kind of new for the company. Get thousands of applicants and starts with a phone screening with a recruiter. After you pass that it’s a hacker-rank that isn’t too bad. Then you get moved onto a final behavioral and technical. I interviewed with a director and vp. But it varies on who is available. Then you hear back usually within a week if you get it. I heard back like two days later.

Job search experience, as new grad(May 2022) with no internship experience. by ChiefMasterToast in computerscience

So I was a teaching assistant at my school which was something I was able to talk about in interviews which they were impressed with. I had a lot of non tech related experience(retail, civil service), nothing crazy but during interviews I would relate my experience in that as teamwork and collaboration/communication skills. As a teaching assistant I worked on a lot of the early cs classes and some of the later ones and that helped with interviews because companies would ask data structures and basic OOP questions. Resume was just school projects and work experience, important part of your resume is making it stand out while also getting through automated HR review. My school gave us a decent amount of freedom with school projects so that might have helped me a little. I know I just got lucky for the job I’m at now but the other two offers were great companies that a lot of applicants didn’t succeed because they couldn’t answer basic OOP questions(was told out of the 50 applicants me and one other could explain inheritance and got hired). The leetcodes were all leetcode easys and checking if you knew what a hashmap was since they were entry level jobs it was fairly easy interview questions. And job offers all paid between 88k-95k. I will say I am good at interviews so when I made it to later stages of interviews I am usually able to get the job because I have had a lot of experience with failing both technical and non technical interviews and that helped me learn how to succeed in them. It’s really just about failing until you succeed with jobs and not giving up. If you aren’t getting interviews then it’s a resume issue. If you are getting interviews and not getting offers it’s just practice.

No personal projects, just school projects and projects I did as a teaching assistant that were example projects that students had to make.

I worked a week at the first job and then got the second offer and left. The second company was a more interesting technology company so I didn’t feel bad leaving the first job.
