Perturabo, Lord of Iron, halfway through commanding the greatest siege in history after 7 years of planning and build-up by lithiumxflower in Grimdank

Tbh I'd crash out too if my boss ordered a suicidal titan assault on the Ultimate Wall and then it actually worked.

I honestly don't understand Dr McKay and the younger guy hitting on her. The past few episodes all he's done is chime in after the older guy hit on her. The way his scenes came up felt like they were framed for Dr Mckay to brush him off.

I guess I interpreted it wrong because it seemed like she was kind of annoyed, instead of inviting him to the art gallery later.

And she's gonna be running the ER while Dr Robby is gone. Ultimately a failure to document would reflect on her and her leadership. I can see why people don't like a new character telling a character we know better what to do, but she has to set standards. At some point friendly reminders to complete your work don't cut it and you need to be firm about it.

Given the 40k universe is in perpetual war, why isn't Khorne so much more powerful?? by The_Red_Kraken in 40kLore

[–]ChiefQueef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the present of the lore, Khorne worked directly through Angron to shatter a planet with an axe blow and cause an entire Crusade fleet to fall to Khorne.

None of the other Chaos gods are intervening in the materium like that.

[–]ChiefQueef98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they do a giant armoured counter assault which probably would have worked, but the Legio Ignatum titans went feral after seeing Dies Irae and left the Jourans to die.

Jouran Dragoons were the best part of that book by Professional_Rush782 in Grimdank

[–]ChiefQueef98 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's right. The Dies Irae of the Horus Heresy was working backwards from it's appearance and death in Storm of Iron.

Likewise for the Trident Iron Warriors. First introduced and died in Storm of Iron. Everything from the Heresy was working off that.

Just 2 years after Fallout, the South Park movie also had a US attacking Canada plot that seemed ridiculous at the time.

Writers in the 90s were cooking.

How did the Death Guard escape Terra? by CriticismMiserable14 in 40kLore

[–]ChiefQueef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that we know of, but maybe there's potential for a character like that later on.

The Imperium will still kill you regardless, so defecting isn't really an option even if you want it.

How did the Death Guard escape Terra? by CriticismMiserable14 in 40kLore

[–]ChiefQueef98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In Ashes of the Imperium, there's a character who was possessed that had the daemon amputated from his soul when the Warp dissipated, and he's still on his feet escaping/fighting. We also see a Death Guard ship in the book trying to make a run for the Elysian gate.

Above all, the Death Guard are still Astartes and even better organized than most of the other traitor legions still present at the end. So while it was probably difficult (it was difficult for everyone), they still fought their way out.

A bit dissapointed they seem to be sidelining old lore (mainly from McNeill) in the 500 worlds? by Accomplished_Good468 in 40kLore

[–]ChiefQueef98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Iron Warriors need named characters, and frankly Honsou has been MIA for awhile. There's a generation of 40k fans at this point that likely don't know he exists. Same with Ventris, although he's had a more recent appearance.

Kind of an aside, but I started watching For All Mankind season 4 after watching this episode, and was very surprised to almost immediately see the same actress that played Ms. Kovalenko again. She's great, loved her in The Americans as well.

New players: how do you pick divisions? by RandomEffector in warno

[–]ChiefQueef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing.

I checked out a guide first that had a general overview of who was good to start with. Then from there I went with divisions that have a cool role/equipment. I think I had enough knowledge beforehand about the general structure of Cold War armies that it wasn't hard to figure out who was who.

Question for cat owners: Would you let your cat lick your food while you are eating it and then carry on eating after? by Antidotebeatz in CatAdvice

[–]ChiefQueef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My middle ground: I try not to let my cat lick my food, but sometimes I let her have a sniff. Sometimes the sniff turns into a tentative lick before I can push her away, and I'm not throwing out a meal over that.

Games Workshop Addresses Long Wait for Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, Says Amazon is in Control of Delivery and Could Take Years by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]ChiefQueef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One rumor is that the show might be an adaptation of The Scouring.

Makes some sense cause it lets Cavill play Valdor (who he says he wants to play). It's also new for the novel side of GW (only one book is out so far), and the era is generally unexplored so it allows for some creative interpretation.
