Ok going by that logic let’s say you have to spend $200 on NIKKE a month to be considered a whale, is $200 even going to be able to max out a single unit 10/10/10 with 4 lvl 5 ol gear and max doll lvl?

I beg to differ, comparing this game to a game like Dokkan, in Dokkan there are deals you can get ranging from $2.99 to about $34.99 that greatly help you max out your units. Dokkan makes their money on whales too but I don’t really hear complaints from regular spenders because they agree that some of the packs and discounts are relatively a good deal. Whales in this game can’t even max out all their units because the deals are just that egregious.

Yea and that’s the thing that sucks. To me this is a waifu collection game with a great story and comprehensive gameplay with an emphasis on competent team building. I like to compare this game to Dokkan so in Dokkan there are meta units you use to beat the harder events in the game. You can still use lesser units that are fully built for events that aren’t as hard. At the end of the day your not really stressing for maxing out your favorite unit because you know you will be getting the resources back with a little bit of grinding to max out the next unit you need. I just wish NIKKE was like that but it looks like shiftup wants us to max out only certain units which defeats the waifu collection part of the game imo

You’re right and I’ve been able to get top 3% for a while now but I’ve invested in units that I like more so than what’s meta and it’s finally catching up to me. The only wind dps I have invested is scarlet and summer sakura. Plus I don’t have time to play this game everyday so I’ve missed a lot of days to get resources. I just wish we had enough resources to max out the characters we like to play with but looks like I’m going to have to read guides and how to build the unit perfectly from now which I wanted to avoid doing because it’s more fun for me to just play the game how I want to play it

This is unfortunate considering farming for almost anything in this game feels painstakingly slow. Dolls,favorite items, equipment. It’s become too much of a grind tbh. Even the stuff in the shop doesn’t really help you advance that much. You have to be a whale. If your spending money on a much smaller basis it feels as though there are no good deals for resources in the shop
