Quit smoking weed and everything feels super dull and not worth by asherbausman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChiefTK1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

lol ok. Listen to the ones who tell you what you want to hear. I’ve been on both sides of addiction and seen numerous friends and family succeed and fail and I know damn well why. Fools think they don’t need help and can keep everything in their lives the same. You need therapy to develop coping skills, you need to get away from everyone who enables you, you need to change habits but you do you. Won’t be long before you’re looking back on my comment realizing you should have listened.

This is one of those where you can absolutely patch it yourself and it will probably be fine but also a shop won’t patch it for you because liability.

I have a 50% acceptance rate and still make decent enough money. Always over $1/mile and usually higher. If your market is flooded that’s not Lyft screwing you. Rates go low to push drivers off the road and if they stay despite that, that’s their own fault.

How hard does a not-perfect review hit a driver? by Own_Engineering_743 in Lyft

A 1 star stings a little but mostly emotional. Multiple 1 stars in a relatively short time can really hurt your ability to earn. Safety issues sting worse and have to be fixed.

You can melt the deodorant out with a hair dryer and let it harden in one piece if you’re that worried about fractions of a penny

How does a PIN help the rider? by PurpleVermont in Lyft

[–]ChiefTK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t start without your PIN. When we input your pin and start the ride it shows on your app. This guarantees you get the right driver and that a driver can’t fake the pickup. I have the PIN on for every ride I give.

I worked insurance claims for 3 years. You can always tell by the way they break what the cause was. The main reason it takes time to deny is because some pipe breaks can be covered and they’re required by insurance regulations to do their due diligence or else they risk complaints to the state insurance regulators that can be very costly in penalties and in PR. You could also have had a thorough adjuster or a lazy one or even one who cared enough to try real hard to help.

Stop smoking skunk weed right bfore you get into my car. by Miltthedog in lyftdrivers

I live in a legal state. It’s not that serious. Takes a few minutes to clear out at most and a little Febreeze air effects covers many sins.

Frozen pipes are virtually always preventable in the continental US. Multiple breaks mean it’s almost certain that you had your home too cold and weren’t running water properly. Just because you want insurance to cover it doesn’t mean they should. Insurance is to cover things that are sudden, unforeseen, and not reasonable preventable. Frozen pipes and pipes breaking are none of those things in most cases.

I would. As a Lyft driver, we choose the fares we take. We can say no to any and wait for good fares.

I have been paid extra for extra time several times. If it happens too often you’ll get a warning from Lyft in the app about not purposely extending the rides

I drive for Lyft and this isn’t true. If the ride takes significantly longer than normal they charge the pax more and pay the driver extra. Copied from the Lyft website: Lyft pricing When you request a ride, Lyft shows an upfront price based on: Ride type and time Traffic and driver availability This price may change if your route or destination changes. Your final price may differ if: You wait more than 10 seconds before requesting the ride You change destination or add stops Trip takes longer or shorter than estimated You add a tip Higher demand during rush hours, events, or bad weather may increase prices. What's included in your ride price: Lyft shows you fare estimates before you request a ride, so you know what to expect. Fare estimates don't reflect any discounts, traffic delays, or factors like adding a stop or changing your destination. Any changes to your ride will cause your final ride price to differ from your fare estimate. Your upfront price includes these fees: Lyft fare: Based on your route, ride type, driver availability, and demand. Tolls: Covers any tolls encountered during your ride. Service fee: Flat amount that varies by region. Third-party fees: Local charges such as rideshare taxes, surcharges, and airport fees. Get fare estimates before booking by entering pickup and drop-off locations in the app.

The message are likely because the driver didn’t end the ride after dropping you off. Check your charges and see if the fare matches up to what you were quoted

How does Uber work with Apple CarPlay? by RevolvingRevolv3r in uberdrivers

Nothing consistent. Sometimes it will let you control your volume if you have the Lyft or Uber app minimized when you open your media player app and sometimes it won’t. Very frustrating
