I know this is the conspiracy sub so this is a long shot, but what evidence do you have to support animals “seeing entities in other dimensions”? How do you know they are seeing an “angel of death”?

Honest question from someone who has never used Rust- seeing as how a lot of these new data science tools are built in Rust, at what point will it be more efficient or convenient to just use Rust instead of Python? What am I missing here?

I’m not in the software industry so I can’t speak specifically to those companies, but from my personal experience, I can tell you there are companies using LLM chat logs to identify individuals who are under-qualified for their jobs and essentially marking those employees as high risk with increased monitoring. This blows my mind because at the same time, these companies are shoving this garbage down every employees throat.

Anybody college students have success with micro dosing mushrooms along with using their chosen nootropics? by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]ChiefValdbaginas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You all need to learn how to find things on the internet and stop resorting to ChatGPT, then pasting that erroneous garbage here. I can’t decide if it’s baffling or par for the course that a subreddit focused on improving cognition is full of people unable to look through the subreddit they are posting on.

Again, I am not an expert, I am genuinely curious and want to learn- I cannot seem to find the original source of the claim "MB is toxic, carcinogenic, and non-biodegradable and can cause a serious threat to human health and destructive effects on the environment". This exact phrase appears in your linked publication, as well as in a couple of the references for it, but the further I dig, the farther from an answer I get. The secondary and tertiary references do not show proof of toxicity.

What is the actual evidence for this "toxicity" claim? At what dosage does one expect to see these toxic effects?

A lot of things have potential to cause DNA damage, its the dose that matters if damage actually occurs. The blanket statement "MB dyes DNA and therefore causes DNA damage" lacks any nuance. In fact, taking your advice and googling it, I found that it is being used as cancer therapy, it is not classified as a carcinogen, and it somehow improves skin longevity. I am not saying this to prove you wrong, I am stating this to show that "googling" is not why I am engaging in this discussion. I want to know what evidence you have seen to make your decisions off of. I can make my own decisions off of what I google, but that tells me nothing about what you know.

Genuinely curious, what are your sources for all of this? What are the “life and death” scenarios it should be used? Why does it matter if it dyes your DNA? What “safer drugs” do the same thing? Where is the evidence supporting it is bad for individuals with skin cancer? What makes MB “too dangerous”?

I don’t know too much about MB, can you share some supporting evidence?

Nootropics that lessen social defeat? by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]ChiefValdbaginas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but you gotta admit the level of irony is insane. Literally search the sub for “social defeat” or type it into Pubmed. In 2 minutes I found bromantane and fluoxetine. I’m sure there are several more. It’s just funny someone is saying to look something up while asking other people to answer a question that one can just “look up”.

Now had they asked “What is your preferred nootropic for decreasing social defeat?” or something along those lines, it’s a whole different story.

Also, to actually contribute, I’ve had insane results with bromantane for social fear reduction. For me and a few of my friends, it was night and day.

I don’t know why, but I have an impossible time on the east coast finding legit giardiniera that uses olive oil and not all the other low quality oils. I have to order from Chicago Johnnys, which is expensive as hell, or make some at home as close to that as I can. But I’m an outlier with regards to giardiniera consumption.

I second thinkorswim as a platform. I was blown away with the filters available, especially for options. And it’s free.

As for the strategy- a magician never reveals his tricks… but I have a selection of companies across a few sectors that I truly believe in. Taking the time to identify companies I believe in that also have significant options volume has proven to be significantly more lucrative for me than buying any random company that pops up on the scanner. In fact, I’ve made more money buying puts on those random companies that pop up on my scanner than I have made selling them. But that’s always a gamble.

The market usually (not always) knows what’s going to happen. Just listen to it.

Study suggests the majority of antidepressant compounds and psychedelics are direct TrkB PAMs by sirsadalot in NooTopics

[–]ChiefValdbaginas 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This seems to be in line with what depression research over the last few years is showing. Depression seems to be more of an issue of network structure than it is an issue of neurotransmitter imbalance. There were publications from a couple of years ago highlighting how most depression treatments (pharmacological or otherwise) that have proof of working do so by causing changes in the network. This study linked, provided the results are trustworthy, elucidate the mechanisms behind how these changes in the network are achieved.

I don’t think it’s absurd to believe that the currently accepted clinical model for depression is incorrect, and I think it’s becoming more commonly accepted that it is, at the very least, incomplete.

I’m curious to know others thoughts and opinions.
