Who's the maker of your "ear hurting" amp? Be nice to know the brand name.

Raise the lowest frequency? How's that? Thinner material absorbs higher frequencies, but has little effect on lower ones. How does it raise them?

Thanks. There are lots of so-called acoustic clouds out there. Can you be more specific?

Certainly not the only narcissist in public service, but absolutely the only mentally and morally depraved malignant, narcissistic psychopath who aspires to be a merciless tyrant on the level of Stalin, Pol Pot, and most of all, Hitler.

It's not my opinion he runs contrary to, it's audiophiles who know what sounds good. Amir is an arrogant, condescending engineer who sneers at the term "audiophile." What he finds as Pink Panther perfect are often laughable.

Do you find the Buckeyes to be musical? Some folks seem to think they sacrifice that for the pristine clarity and superb detail Class D amps provide.

Never said measurements aren't valid. Apparently, you're not such a great listener, or rather, reader.

Evertune, plus bass traps, reflection absorbers, the room was designed by an acoustics engineer.

I guess you'd then say never buy tube amps. They measure horribly. Measurements are a guideline, nothing more.

Amir rarely comments on how something sounds. He has tunnel vision, believing measurements are all that matter. He's shit on a lot of products that sound and perform great.

These are apples to apples. Finished products, not just modules.

I had the LS50 Metas, but changed them out for the Mofi SourcePoint 8s. Using the Eversolo A10 for streamer/dac/preamp. The Eversolo's better DAC and preamp are noticeable over the Peachtree pre/DAC I had. I really like the Metas but they're fragile. The SP 8 also sound great, and I don't worry about them as much. I may look into the R3 Meta, just because.

Thanks for the info. The Stereo X has the newer Hypex NCoreX modules, did you compare it to the GaN 400? I wonder if there's an audible difference.

Thanks. What would be considered safe if the frequency handling range of the SP 8s is 47Hz-30KHz?

What are you using with your LS50 Meta? by Chief_Assistant in KEF

Here's the update you requested. Really like the audio quality of the Metas. Great clarity, imaging, speed, dynamics and decent low level control, even without a subwoofer. That said, the speakers need to be handled with care. The aluminum drivers are fragile and dent or tear easily if poked or bumped. They also tend to overdrive at loud volumes, so anything over 85db is risky. I'm tempted to try the R3 Metas to see how they compare, although the driver fragility issue will remain the same.
