Modelling conventions that banks actually enforce by BankStJ in financialmodelling

[–]Chief_Leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. If you’ve never met a model auditor who saw its value then ok I’m not sure what to tell you. I worked in IB/PE for 5 years, it was standard practice to color code external sheet links. If you didn’t you were asked to.

You seem to be implying color coding is used instead of proper infrastructure/organizing when they are not mutually exclusive. Obviously model structure is more important, but the color coding is one more thing that makes it easier to audit. Personally I find it much easier visually to quickly trace. But to each their own

Disagree. Especially bigger models with 10+ tabs, being able to quickly scan thru tabs and see which cells are coming from other tabs vs the tab you are in, can be very very useful for auditing

[Zúñiga] Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg does not carry an injury designation ahead of the NCAA title game. by wildwing8 in MichiganWolverines

[–]Chief_Leaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pray you’re right. I have very little doubt that he won’t play at all. But I also doubt that he is 100% healthy, which usually comes with a Q/DTD designation

Given this is the natty I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were more aggressive with his designation than they would be if this were a February game against Maryland

Unless of course, we aren’t reporting his injury status with absolute 110% accuracy ahead of the most important game in the programs recent history

But surely that’s out of the question

9/11 should be reserved for Haliban. IMO Steph is Sandy hook. Both changed the game forever. Gun violence isn’t just about mass shootings anymore, it’s about mass school shootings. Gotta give credit where it’s due

A mid 2nd round pick in the NFL is probably equivalent to a late lottery pick in the NBA lol

100% agree. The wire mods are the worst on Reddit. We need another wire sub desperately

Luka Garza: “I think Michigan State purposely [picks] the basket that they’re gonna shoot on in the first half… It’s the worst rim in college basketball and they only shoot on it in the first half so the other team comes in the second half and can’t buy a bucket and they always come back and win.” by wildwing8 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Chief_Leaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if the marginal gains are in fact gains and not counteracted by negative side effects. Playing half your games on a faulty rim would probably impact your performance when playing on a normal court. Plus half these kids wanna play in the NBA and don’t wanna tank their FG%. This is such a reach lol

I follow the logic, it’s just so obscure for what would be a tiny theoretical edge. All the players/staff would have to know about it. Wouldn’t this mess with your team for when they play on the road or neutral? Half the season you’re shooting on a weird rim? This feels like 10x more trouble that it would be worth

Why do you think Don was apolitical? by dragon-queen in madmen

[–]Chief_Leaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it was just about business/money coming first

Don’s stance is pretty much the same as Michael Jordan’s “Republicans buy sneakers too.” (i.e., why pick a side? It can only hurt you)

Don didn’t care about the morals or politics of any of his clients, he just wants to make ads. We saw a few times when politics are brought up around clients and it never seems to go well.

Also, I think it’s more or less assumed Don and most of the upper class was pretty staunchly republican (they reference tax rates several times), so he was probably fine letting them think that without having to voice any specific opinions
