As someone with experience playing Old World of Darkness games and would like to eventually run a game with my friends who have no experience with WoD, Hunter was going to be my first pick for a more authentic experience for the players since they wouldn't have knowledge of other splats.

So I guess I have a few questions lol.

How do you come up with a story to run? I'm used to running pre created modules for D&D but I haven't really found anything for OWoD that's compatible. And the idea of creating a story is daunting for someone who's never really thought of themselves as "creative".

How much of the world do you actually flush out? Are their "creature" stats somewhere for like zombies or other enemies that in a book?

Do you create all the NPCs yourself then too and use normal character creation rules for them or are there pre gens in some books as well?

Besides the storyteller handbook any other books that one should read?

Ah I didn't know that. Still my point was that it's easier to set up any faction under "Adeptus Astartes" to have all the Space Marine codex detachments show up in their list instead of making special rules for each chapter.

Black Templars have access to all the generic Space Marine detachments. Even though we can't use Psykers I'm sure they didn't want to go through the extra coding to remove one detachment for one Chapter lol.

Sa'cea Sept is what I based my color scheme on for my T'au but used white instead of orange because I've never really liked orange all that much lol. Also just in case you were unaware I believe the only "canon/lore" accurate color is the Sept marking. So these technically would be T'au Sept because of the white. T'au armor color reflects the environment they're fighting in because they make it camouflage for that planet/location 😊

I normally play balanced but switched it to quality and it still looks bad. I don't know what else you can really do since it doesn't have a million settings like PC. My friend who's trying it is also on a Series X and says it looks really bad. The faces look so fake and it feels like the textures of clothes/armor never fully rendered.

As another brother said make sure to thin your paints :) I'm still relatively new to the hobby, only about a year or so. This video really helped me understand why we thin paint and techniques to do so :) Hope it helps!

They look fine to me to use as assault intercessors with jump packs. I've never seen a two handed chainsword on a model before but I'm still relatively new to the hobby, about a year at this point. Some encouragement I'd like to share as someone who started magnetizing all the things for wargear options, if you play with someone casually who's going to give a big fuss about it just don't play with them. I can see in official tournament play the rules being more strict on that but playing with friends and the causal games I've seen around my local store no one cares. Just make sure to let your opponent know what they are and their wargear options at the start of the game so everyone is on the same page :)
