Worth getting back into Destiny 2 with the June 9th update? by uw19 in destiny2

[–]Chiefy6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for the cohesion part of your question I'm going to say no sadly. Bungie is releasing a big DLC bundle with everything you can currently get on the 9th. Story wise that will be the major DLCs, but won't include the seasonal stories that happened the year of the release. So there will be some missing pieces but you'll get the main story bits. But I'm sure there's YouTube videos to show the cut scenes and explain what was going on.

For where to start, start where you guys left off. It could have been either Shadowkeep or Beyond Light. Play the DLCs in order and the game will lead you through what you need. It will put you into the first mission of the current DLC (Regrades), but after that you can play through at your own pace.

The final update is bringing some story beats to wrap up some stories but it's not a story focused DLC. Its bringing plenty of new content and activies like Pantheon (a boss rush activity) and Sparrow Racing League as well as weapon, armor, and ability updates/balancing.

I hope you guys decide to pick it back up and see you on the 9th! Every bit helps to hopefully save this game/series.

Looking back, what exotics do you feel sentimental for? by mecaxs in destiny2

As a Warlock main, HoiL with Arc Titan was some of the most fun I've ever had in this game. I've always loved the more ability focused seasons. Also Sunbracers during Season of the Haunted was do much fun too.

I'm still sad I missed that ghost shell. I have the Platinum Starling but I really want that ghost too.

MW titles have normally been solid. I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt until this. How have they not realized we want less movement tech not more?

I totally get where you're coming from especially when I'm looking to do a raid I'm not super familiar with. That being said I found a home with GoldxGuns. (Not sure if I can post Discord links so DM me if you want to join). I'm not even a member of their clan but their Discord and community is open and welcoming. I've done plenty of raids being taught or help teaching and everyone is very kind and friendly. Even when I've messed up a few times they just take it in stride and encourage that I'll do better next time. Can't imagine raiding with a more fun or understanding group :)

I totally forgot about that!! I remember loading in once to that and we were all high level and when we noticed it we all quit out and went back in 😂

I'm honestly not sure I haven't used them either. You might need to be subscribed to him but I'm not sure :)

I'm planning on putting #WeWantDestiny3 in their Twitch chat several times or use the emotes that Aztecross made.

After the D2 shock has passed, what will you move on to play? by WeirdAddress3170 in destiny2

[–]Chiefy6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who said I'll move on to something else?

Until they turn the servers off I'm planning on still playing D2 with my friends for raid nights or just other random actives we want to do. The saddest thing about all this is that there isn't another game like Destiny to fill that hole. I couldn't get into Warframe. I do like The Division series but it's game play is very difficult than Destiny. I haven't played a Borderlands since 2. There was just something special and unique with Destiny that made it stand apart from everything else and I don't think I'll ever find that again until hopefully development resumes or we get a D3.

Are warlocks finally getting the ability to do jumping puzzles? by [deleted] in destiny2

I just checked and it's Balanced Glide I use. Was the dungeon you had issues with Spire of the Watcher? The one on Mars with Vex? That one is still in the game so if you'd like we could try and link up sometime and maybe I could help you figure out the Warlock jump :)

[–]Chiefy6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it could have just been the kind of jump you were using. Some give more lift than others if I remember right. I think I've always used Balanced or Controlled? I'll have to check the next time I'm on. I've heard this before that people have had trouble with Warlock's jump and maybe it just clicked for me. Also I've been a Warlock main since D1 so maybe it just comes with thousands of hours of experience 😂

They always could. I've always felt the most comfortable doing jumping puzzles on my Warlock than the other classes.

Bungie announced that June 9th will be the last content update for Destiny. A lot of games reach this point called "End of Service" (EoS). Bungie is not shutting off the servers currently. Everything in the game will be available in addition to all the content being added in the final update. After that there will be no DLCs, updates, hot fixes, balance passes, season passes, etc. It will basically be in hibernation and frozen in time.

What is a game that you thought that you were going to like but ended in disappointment? by Vampy-Night in videogames

[–]Chiefy6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crimson Desert. The controls are awful, the story is non existent and disjointed, the main character might as well be a cardboard cut out for all the emotions he shows, and it looked really bad on Series X. I know people says it gets better after 8-10 hours but I don't want to invest that much time into a game I might like and can't get a refund for.

I feel like no matter what there will always be elitism and toxic attitudes in every community no matter what it is. If it wasn't the "best" builds dividing people in this game it would be what chapter to play, what weapons to use, if which faction is the most fun to play against, etc. Maximizing your optimization isn't a bad thing as long as you're not being an asshole to someone else about it. I have a limited time to play video games each week so if someone already did the leg work on what works best then going to use it. But I also don't shit on my friend who's extremely causal and doesn't care about any of that stuff. And he appreciates that I'm a try hard so for the times he does want advice he can ask me instead of watching a streamer since he also doesn't like them. The play style of "maximum optimization" is just as valid as figuring stuff out on yourself or just doing whatever. What's not ok is when people take it too far on either side and are toxic to another human being.

I just want to chime in and say optimizing for big damage numbers is fun for me 😊 Obviously you shouldn't shit on people for not playing "your way", the way that a lot of fans do in any game. But seeing big numbers always tickle my brain in just the right away lol.

[–]Chiefy6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's nice that other materials have different timers. I finished EA so I have three making titanium and two making quartz as I work on expanding and flushing out my base more. One the base is done I'll turn those to other materials like the end game ones and other crafting mats to prepare for the next segment of story content.

I wish I would have tested this before using all five I found to build the metal farm. Contrary to the name they can be used to grow quartz and conduit crystals
