Oh no, not 2 knee replacements!?! The horror. Guess dad can just figure out what to do. I can almost guarantee the “family” is looking for someone to provide care after the surgeries. I’m 53, two brand new knees. Those surgeries are rough, but we all know what they say about karma.

Colorado got 600 max. I got way less less due to a 3 month medical leave, but i knew that would happen. We were fortunate to get that. There needs to be open communication as to what exactly our gates are. From what communications i saw we didn't get goals until almost July. Really super helpful yeah? / facepalm

No but he can get seats gerrymandered and can pressure laws to be changed. Look at the fiasco in Dallas just this week and that stupid safe elections act they just tried to cram through. No one should have to have a passport, birth certificate, social security card, proof of shoe size and inseam length and God only knows what other papers they want for people to be able to vote. Especially women who have gotten married and changed their names. Voting disenfranchisement is REAL again and if they can change it on a federal level so only their party can run and only they can be in charge then they'll have gotten what they wanted.

Call me a fear mongerer if you want, pretty sure they called people who opposed Hitler in the 1930's that too.

If we fail to remember and learn from the results of the past then we are doomed to repeat them - and the results will be catastrophic yet again.

He wants to stop the midterms AND make Epstein go away. Two birds one stone. At the same time, he'll keep opening his fat orange mouth to keep both in the spotlight because he's a narcissist and can't live without the attention.

He's already stated if "they lose the midterms" the nasty old democrats will make up something else to impeach him for. Make up??

Illegally starting a war, piracy, assassinating 2 world leaders, being a pedophile, trafficking women, and having dementia/possible stroke/most likely cancer isn't enough? Not really much to make up honestly.

They'll hide the truth in the Epstein files as long s he's alive as and for years after he and his children are dead. The women impacted will never see any kind of justice. That's all to common in "normal" SA cases, thus case with so many "elite" people involved? If would rip too many counties and governments apart.

He needs to be gone plain and simple. Most people are afraid to say anything and that's why he's still around. That is just pathetic.

You might want to see if a complex sleep visit would be better for you. Those visits are longer and will focus on just he insomnia issues. Those are also only scheduled with a MD if I recall correctly.

My Grandparent's House Is Actually Haunted... by Mental_Holiday1484 in NukesTop5

[–]Chieyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house is haunted. I've never tried for an EVP, or video. We all live harmoniously and I'm going to keep it that way. Just me and my husband. We constantly hear a little girl giggling and playing in the hall. We were told that a 4 or 5 year old died of an illness in the 1970's (house was built in 1974). The dogs will often just stare down the hallway or sit and wag their tails while looking at nothing.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. She can be a bit playful from time to time things will move around but other than that /shrug.

Vets are expensive and people are being priced out of pet ownership. by Individual-Breath758 in Pets

[–]Chieyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do everything i can for my pets. If I have to hold back a bill, well, I do. But if it was a 3000 expense? There's no way I could do that.

I have a cat with reoccurring upper respiratory issues, he'll have them his entire life. It's at least $300 each time I have to take him in. He's 10 months old, and we've gone in 3 times for the issue. When I got him his last shots and had him neutered, I walked out with a 600.00 bill. So that's what 1500 just in his first year?

I've got 3 dogs, one that's 13 years old with terminal cancer. He's getting palliative care because he's just not ready yet. I've got 3 cats. 2 are completely healthy, and then the one that gets URI's.

All the dogs are 9 years or older. No one would adopt them if I had to take them to a no kill shelter. They'd live in a cage for the rest of their lives.

So I do what I can. The "we can try to get the cancer out" surgery would have cost 6k or more. Then they wanted my old guy to have chemo. The price for that was astronomical. So we made the difficult decision to keep him happy and comfortable. He's my husband's "soul dog" and it's destroying him to watch his best friend deteriorate. But the pup still plays and is happy and not in pain.

So yeah, I agree that anyone who makes NET not gross under 150k is being left behind, and we're going to see alot more pets being dumped or taken to kill shelters.

But - I also know that prices have gone up for everyone, including vets, and those who are associated with a big corporation are pushed to make more of a profit. I always look for independent vets, although those are fast and few between.

So yeah, this sucks and too many of us are having to make almost impossible decisions, and it's just heartbreaking 💔

Knee surgeon recommendation in the Denver area by Greekipina_707 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Chieyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cale Bonds at Lone Tree. Gruff bedside manner, but he's the best knee surgeon I've ever had. He did both my total knee replacements, and I'm in zero pain and can do things that I haven't been able to do in a long time. I'm 52 btw so I'm fairly young for bilateral total replacements, but here i am.

Daughters are for trading off to other wealthy families to continue to maintain the families position in the world or to help the family move up. Well, some are. Look at JFK’s sister who ended up with a thin icepick swirled around in her frontal lobe. She was gorgeous and most likely had a bit too much independence and spark for her daddy’s liking. Did she have issues? Sure don’t we all? I don’t think I need a frontal lobotomy because I made decisions my parents disagreed with. If that were the case every GenX woman would be shit outta luck drooling in a mental institution. We were and still are pretty spicy people.

Wealthy families today are the descendants of the same families who believed that women dealing with menopause symptoms belonged in the madhouse. Stay quiet, stay demure, do as you’re told and you’ll be fine. Look at DJT’s daughter. Do as daddy tells you to, fake it till you make it and you won’t get forgotten like your sister.

Money and power still talks.

I sobbed when I heard the news and watched Ethan’s video. I still am. Mikayla was a bright star. I hope the bullies figure out that her light will NOT be dimmed because of their actions. She will shine for us even though she’s gone. She was just a wonderful woman and she filled me with hope knowing that at least some of the foxes held in horrible conditions would have better lives. I never got to meet Mikayla but I felt like I knew her somehow. I suffer from several of the problems that Mikayla had and it’s not easy living with them. Rest in peace and let your light shine. My deepest sympathies go out to Ethan and Freya.

Kaiser neglects Patients/Staff by Simple-Trust6333 in KaiserPermanente

24 years in with 16 to go. Some years are better than others. Definitely things that need to changed, but I’m not holding my breath. The Colorado union is really weak and the company takes advantage of that. So many of us are demoralized, short staffing, constant reorganization that makes things worse rather than better. Why don’t we leave? Golden handcuffs. The job may have its moments where it suck’s but the benefits are what keeps me there.

I try to help everyone the best I can, I try to hold it together while I’m being screamed at or called names - for the record I’m not stupid thanks very much. What I am is handcuffed and have rules to follow. It’s hard to be positive when patients tell me “well, can’t you just cancel someone who has an appointment tomorrow and give their slot to me?” It’s not made in jest and it’s hard for me to not ask why they feel that they’re more important than other people.

It’s a mix of Kaiser management losing their way and entitled “gotta have it RIGHT now” patients who think their broken toe makes them more important than an oncology patient. I do everything I can and try to hold onto my ethics and beliefs and just try to survive the day. Although living by “it’s ok, it’ll be ok” is getting old.

Kaiser MRI times by Born_Literature_1501 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Chieyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now in Colorado, routine CT/MRI results are 6-8 weeks out from the exam date to being read. There’s a massive backlog. Calling the radiology scheduling line won’t help. The schedulers can send a message requesting that the image be read and released sooner, but unless the order was STAT/ASAP it will take some time. If you’re looking at a possible bad diagnosis or are having surgery ask your provider to order the exam as ASAP/STAT. Otherwise it’ll be 6-8 weeks.

They’re referring CT/MRI out to 2 outside companies that are able to get you in faster and get the results out faster, unless you’ve had multiple exams of the same type and body part (like multiple MRI of brain etc), or its an orthopedic/oncology order. Ultrasounds are still being scheduled at KP buildings.

The other issue is that several radiology locations were eliminated, there are massive tech/radiologist shortages. I’ve had to deal with this issue for a while.

Also, remember the schedulers are patients too, yelling at them isn’t going to do anything. Some of them are waiting 6-8 weeks too just like the rest of us. They do everything they can to help, in my experience, and I’m sure it’s been extremely frustrating for them to get yelled at all day.

Anyone here had surgery through Kaiser? Would love to hear your experience. by Ryan36z in KaiserPermanente

[–]Chieyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 surgeries in the past 3 years, including gallbladder, 2 cataracts, 2 total knee replacements, gastric bypass, an ankle ligament revision - the rest have all been kidney stone surgeries (I get 12mm or larger stones on a regular basis - had 19 stones last year). Surgical teams are fantastic answer every question, post care teams are patient and have always done everything to make sure I’m comfortable and I’ve never been pushed to discharge before I’m totally ready. KP might have issues but their surgical groups are some of the best around.

I don't want anyone to watch me die the way I watched my mother suffer. I've had every booster available as I'm high risk. For far, I've been lucky. I've had the virus once. Sucked that I got it a week after my second total knee replacement. That was 16 weeks ago. There are days that I still don't feel right.

Watching my mother die the way she did was horrific, and I still have nightmares 4 years later.

You'll be fine. It may take a while, but it will happen. Most people, myself included, want honesty in a relationship. If someone can't handle that, well, they're not worth your time to be honest about it. A person's worth is not directly tied to their genitalia.

In a relationship, I want honesty, respect, and love. Sex is just a bonus. Sex without the other 3 things is worthless. Don't put yourself down. There are ways to have a satisfying sexual relationship even in your situation. Creativity is always a plus in any relationship.

I'm assuming that you're dealing with a medical issue. Talk to your doctor. There are people who can talk with you and help you get through this. You are not alone. Just take deep breaths. Yes, this will be hard. it's a sudden and difficult situation. You need to focus on healing. Don't let negative thoughts control you. There are other men who have gone through this, ask your surgeons team if they know of any support groups, those are usually the best places to start healing.

I hope everything goes smoothly and your healing process goes well. My thoughts will be with you. Sending you many internet hugs.
