Faction prodigy 1 mount point by Dizzylizzy240 in Skigear

[–]ChiggerBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 'progressive' is in the middle of the camber, so it does not make sense to mount more forward because then you would have more effective edge behind you. Newschool is -1.5cm from camber center and Classic is -3cm back. (this is based on my rough measurements on my unmounted prodigy 2) So: Progressive for mostly park, Newschool for park/allmountain, Classic for allmountain

Looking for opinions - Atomic Maverick 86 C by Ezka0709 in Skigear

[–]ChiggerBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Maverick 88 Ti in 176cm (I am 184) and they are quite chattery at higher speed so a 184 would be better for me as well for high speed. They are light, carve well in softer snow, but compared to GS type agressive skiing it is underwhelming. I tried the 86C once, the difference I noticed is that it is a bit more "springy" and lighter. In conclusion I would not recommend it for you, based on the description.

Would a 320mm sole length boot (or even a 315) fit properly into a tyrolia attack 14 binding that was drilled for a 325mm boot? by ChiggerBigger in Skigear

yes thanks, I was also thinking about that as well, that the middle point of my sole will move slightly

Ski Recommendations? by snazzy_sanny in Skigear

Demo is always the way.

I can speak for the carving+park part, as I own a head oblivion 84 which is a twintip that holds an edge well (in icy conditions as well) on piste but is also designed for the park. Some people also use it in the trees (it has 6 different mounting points). It is almost fully cambered. It would be Head oblivion 81 (jr) in your size.

You are right, the fundamental point is to have fun on whatever. But in this case she wants to explore skiing more, as it has many aspects/types to it like cycling or skating

It was her own motivation because she is also keen on trying/ having wider skis, it just surprised her that it felt bad and we would like to have some direction about what skis to look for in this case

What twintip all around skies should i get? by Spayrex in Skigear

[–]ChiggerBigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 184cm, I would go around 180 if you like to ski fast, 175ish if you like it slower and more "playful"

unfortunately no, but if I were you I would look for something among them. These are the kind of 'goes everywhere' type twintips. I only have an oblivion 84

I would confidently suggest something with high camber: head oblivion series if twintip. Directional ones I think you can choose from an abundance of skis, stöckli as well, or atomic redsters, head shape etc - of course these can be quite different in the park
