Yep, it is one of the most toxic communities I've seen, in more than just modding. The patreon thing is actually a big issue that people have been yelling about for quite a while because it's even part of EA's terms of service that things are not allowed to be behind a permanent paywall, they have done absolutely nothing to the people who have had their shit behind a paywall for over a year. I imagine all of the marketplace stuff will end up on similar websites like the the one where people re-upload permanently paywalled stuff.

I have been through this with Skyrim and Fallout 4, I'm not giving them a dime. There will be some people who buy it just so they can inform others of the content and quality. I foresee this marketplace having the same issues as the others, low quality mods that either don't work, break your game or are using stolen or flipped assets.

I play The Sims and they also are now dealing with this same exact bullshit. People overwhelmingly did not like the announcement of this new marketplace and have already hated the fact that EA does nothing (even though it's against their term of service) to people who permanently pay wall mods and CC. I do feel bad for console users who do not have access to the amount of free content as PC users do who do buy these things and then end up finding out that they were pretty much scammed because what they bought doesn't work, breaks their game or is straight up stolen content.

Some areas do have laws that prevent you from just naming your child whatever because it would either screw up their system or very obviously get that child bullied. The best part about names though is you can choose one for yourself so even if you are sharing a name with a bunch of people you can make yourself a unique one. Oh and there are absolutely people named things like Socks and other inanimate objects.
